Tope La is a great suggestion. We always enjoy our meals there. A lot of people really like The Steakhouse (also downtown). If you need a breakfast spot, check out Yellow Bird. The service can be hit or miss, but I love the food (it's a small cafe).

Best food is probably at Jacmels, but it's pricey. Their crab cakes are very good for this area and their fresh fish dishes are great.
