Baby girl went to the range with me today for the first time

I keep asking my wife to go but she won't. Today when she said no I turned to baby girl and she said yeah! She jumped up and was in the jeep before I had everything ready. I never realized she wanted to shoot. She's never shot before so I brought the 1911 and the p226 9mm.
After some instruction and a safety talk, I let her shoot the .45 first. I handed her a few magazines with one round in each to let her get a feel for it and practice loading. After a few times, I gave her a few full stacks in 7 round mags. She didn't do too badly. I kept the targets at 5 yards.
After about a half a box of .45 I switched her over to the p226. We started with 5 rounds a few times then stepped up to full mags. She loved it.
We mainly worked on her grip today and getting her to slow down and reacquiring after the shot. The gun is probably a little heavy for her and that's why she drifts down but her first and second shots are money.
After we were done, she asked about going again. I have a new range buddy!

My youngest daughter, it's what I've called her for 16 years

At 15-16 I say let them shoot but honestly from the picture I though she was about 12

My daughter (she's 10) had shot with me for several years but mostly .22 and the AR.
We went to the range a couple of weeks ago and she wanted to try the GP100 with .38. Like your's it was a little heavy for her but she did great with it.

Good job dad!
I haven't shot there yet, but have been considering carrying to work one day and going to shoot during lunch. I did notice my 1st time there about 2 weeks after it opened the stray bullet marks on the wall and ceiling and it scared the heck out of me.

You should. The last few times I've been, I've had the place to myself, same yesterday. Just me and her. I've never been to hunter's in lake Charles and been alone and there's more light at Action too.
I agree, the marks on the wall and ceiling are kind of scary.
