A Good Year is one of my favorite charming little lesser watched movies. I accept that its not on par with most of the better films in that list

Dude those Scorsese/ DiCaprio and Wes Anderson are some really good films. don't be a dipshit
Go back and read the post slowly. I said most of the movies in OP were terrible, but excluded the Scorcese and Wes Anderson flicks, or, in other words, they are good movies.

Lin/Diesel - Fast and Furious 3, 4, 5, 6

Wow ok. I guess that qualifies as a glaring omission then
I generally regard kirk russell as a god awful actor. I did like Escape and Big Trouble though

Where the frick is Mifune/Kurosawa and Fellini/Mastroianni? But from that list, Scorsese/De Niro is easily #1 and it's not even remotely close.

You should have mentioned The King of Comedy in you Scorsese/DeNiro list. One of their best.

Kurosawa/Mifune - Yojimbo, Throne of Blood, Rashomon, Seven Samurai, The Hidden Fortress, Sanjuro, High and Low
Hitchcock/Stewart - Vertigo, Rear Window, Rope, The Man Who Knew too Much
Hitchcock/Grant - Notorious, North by Northwest, To Catch a Thief, Suspicion

I actually did consider adding Hitchcock/ Grant

I have him better than "god awful" but I know what you mean. Carpenter did get the best out of him.

And arguably their best work was The Thing- although I enjoy these two better.
Obviously, Carpenter did They Live without Russell - Kurt was unavailable, which led to the most awesome casting decision of the decade - Rowdy Roddy Piper in the lead of that film.
This further devalues Russell, as Piper wasn't an actor at all (other than wrestling which is more stagecraft and performance art than true, hit your marks, know your cues and your lines acting).

The title was "Rank these prolific actor/director collaborations" not "Rank the best actor/director collaborations in Hollywood". So yeah, both collaborations deserved a mention in the thread.

Russell/Carpenter.
This.
Up there with DeNiro/Scorcese and Ford/Wayne
Burton/Depp and Scott/Crowe have awful lists, wow.

Kurosawa and Mifune is by far the best pairing I can think of. Nothing I've seen mentioned by you guys comes close.

John Goodman/Coen Brothers
Raising Arizona
Barton Fink
The Hudsucker Proxy
The Big Lebowski
Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?
