I sat in an auditory and visual isolation chamber for some tests for work. The attendant had to walk away for something, and in the meantime I sat in complete silence and darkness. Hearing and seeing nothing is strange. Your brain will make up stuff to replace the nothingness.

Some of your trolls are clever, some even great, this one is a stretch.

I go to one about 1-2 times a month. Once you get over the weirdness it's extremely calming. I have 2 tournaments this week and will likely visit the pod on Monday. They can set water pressure to "massage" injuries. Love for my lower back and neck.

Those aren't trolls, just smart-assery. And good smart-assery at that.

Link if the groupon is still available? Just moved to Denver and have nothing but time to kill until work starts. Already planing a massage after skiing in Utah for a few days.

Meh...his "I have a shitty life" shtick was better.

Always open for constructive criticism.
But smart assness aside, what would happen if someone goes into one of these with a shitty attitude? Or is it just too calming of an environment for that?
You hear the tripping comparison a lot, and your attitude and surroundings can have a huge effect on a drug induced trip, just curious if the same would apply here.

I'd do this if it wasn't so expensive. It's like $100 for 60 minutes in Nashville I think. Rather get a full body and deep tissue massage with that.

Would I get the same relaxation putting 30 bucks worth of epson salt in the jacuzzi? Maybe add a stiff cocktail and some indie music?

I have an unusual injury and my Physical Therapist of: traditional chinese medicine (my insurance actually paid for) gave me this...
It worked when nothing else would. The best way to describe it is after any of us have surgery it is in our heads to never touch the scar/incision area. Even after it has healed. Take a C-section scar, as one example. If you feel around the scar there are lumpy areas. This is scar tissue that needs kneaded out. As nuts as it sounds. It is very healing. My injury was muscle related and near a large scar. I swear it freed trapped nerves as well.
So, I will bet any of this other stuff works in overall healing as well because I can attest to the above.
On Massage. I have been to a spa but I don't recall the difference in these massages.
Which type massage would you suggest over the other?

MYOFASCIAL RELEASE- A powerful method of stretching and softening adhesions, lengthening short spasmed muscles and freeing trapped nerves. Excellent for injuries and breaking down scar tissue

SWEDISH- A combination of traditional flowing strokes with gentle kneading to enhance relaxation, and reduce stress
DEEP TISSUE- Combines deep direct pressure to relieve chronic pain. Increases range of motion and eliminates muscle spasms

I feel like Swedish massages are a waste of my money. The pressure is very light and it's more for relaxation than any real therapy.
I use deep tissue to break down scar tissue & cartilage on my hand from surgery and to treat tendinitis. You have to have someone who knows what they are doing if done by a person Bc they can't just go digging into a nerve. It's about stretching and manipulating the muscle around the nerve.
That's why I like the pod in between actual massages. The water does provide deep tissue therapy but isn't so specific that it is applying pressure to a nerve. If you're sensitive to pain, it can be uncomfortable for the first few minutes but I find the entire process relaxing & enjoyable. Do a deep stretch when you are done and again that night before going to bed.
I'm playing in 2 tournaments this week and already have a session booked for the day in between to get my muscles loose and ready to play again.
