As much as Mahan looked confused by what phil said in that press conference, I think he agreed.
They all want Zinger. Not sure why it won't happen. Somebody mad at figjam maybe?

Sounds like they may be setting up the next couple of captains.
Davis this year with Couples and Stricker as co-captains. 2018 will be Couples with Stricker and Furyk. 2020 will be Stricker with Furyk and Phil. 2022 will be Furyk with Phil and Tiger. And on down the list.
If this isn't what they are doing, this is what they should be doing. They could also change the order and add Azinger.

Pretty sure Couples or Azinger turned it down, because they were probably the #1 choices by Tiger/Phil etc.

I don't think Azinger or Couples have a good relationship with the PGA. Just from what the talking heads on the Golf Channel say. It makes since because why would you want anyone else to be the Captain?

I rooted for Europe in Scotland because of Ted bishop dicking over Louisiana. I'll probably be over Louisiana being past over for captain by the PGA when Minnesota rolls around.
