Wow that's some ground breaking shite, alabama is the only southern state that I know of that never allowed out of state university's on their lisc plates

LSU.was the first non-Texas school to get plates in this state. Alumni group worked with state to get it done. I think a rich alumni ponied up the money for the first order of 1800 plates.

It was similar in Georgia.
The Alumni association in Atlanta got with the state The agreement was when the state had 1000 prepaid plates they would produce them.
