Been living for the weekends, but staying really busy at work lately. Trying to hydrate myself after this past weekend.

When youre near campus, I can get the 4 entree deal at Nine dragon, which is same price as a sandwich at jimmy johns.

Jimmy John's is frickin good

Isn't Jimmy Johns / Ingas a ripoff?
And Inga's is fricking dank.

Agree. In a town like NOLA, known for good poboys, these chickenshit sandwich shops like Subway and Jimmy John's should be dismal failures, but never underestimate the prevalence of bad taste.

I guess it depends on how you stock your kitchen. Making pizza or burgers or poboys or Chinese food takes far more effort and ingredients I don't have on hand at any given time.
Fwiw, I see the appeal of sandwiches. Not as bad for you as the above mentioned stuff. And some people just really love sandwiches.
I would definitely not be surprised to find my upbringing has something to do with it. Not sure why, as it wasn't a money thing, but sandwiches were lunch every single day.. And my parents would even go so far as to pack an ice chest of sandwiches for times you'd normally stop and get food.. On the road for vacation, for the day at the zoo, etc.
I could easily live without another cold cut type of sandwich forever

Plus, college students aren't exactly the best with their money so they tend to choose $7 at a time over spending $100 on a week or so's worth of groceries.
More money for the bar.
More money for the bar.

I used to think the same thing, until I tried to do it, saw how much waste I had and did the math. If I ate like 7 sandwiches a week it would be worth making your own.
I like the Ingas best, so to keep Cappa, ham, salami, and peperoni on hand gets expensive in itself, then finding quality tomatoes which may go bad on me before I finish using it/them, same thing with lettuce and cheese.
To sum up, yeah it can be a ripoff but it's not easy to always have everything on hand for an Ingas Best or a JJ Vito, and the waste gets expensive.

Surely their success couldn't have to do with the fact that they have healthier options (as opposed to either fried seafood or slow-cooked roast beef & gravy on french bread) and are significantly quicker and often cheaper than these po-boy shops, right? Nah, it's just 'cause everyone has shitty tastes except for you.

i cant make indian food/ steak/ mexican/ or ethopian at home. but i can make a sandwhich, its just way more work then driving to jimmy johns.

Funny you think the processed crap at Subway is good for you. Check the calories and the nitrates. Funny that you think 4 pieces of processed meat is a better value for $5 than a poboy with actual flavor for $8. Yeah, your taste sucks.

He is also coming across as very angry, while everyone else is being civil.. polite, even. 2006, I hope your day gets better :(

I was going to correct you earlier, but didn't. You do realize he said college kids get it delivered, right? Not that they themselves are the delivery people.
Not that either one matters, but it is bothering me that you're making fun of him for something he never said.
