you're way too invested in all this.
Sorry, I can't hear you over the whirlwind of that 0.85% return of investment.

I just had Jimmy John's for lunch. I didn't particularly think it was the greatest, but I can see where people value the convenience more than the money spent, just like any other fast food joint

Just because you can make something similar at home does not mean that you can make it as quickly, conveniently, inexpensively, tasty, ect as a restaurant. I can make a better sandwich than Jimmy Johns, but if I haven't already bought the ingredients, can I have one in my hand in 15 minutes at 1:00 am?

Can I make my steak at home taste like Inga's?

It serves a niche.

Not always lazy. Time is more valuable than a few pennies.

Why do people go to Pizza Hut , or McDonalds, or Taco Bell?

I used to think the same thing, until I tried to do it, saw how much waste I had and did the math. If I ate like 7 sandwiches a week it would be worth making your own.
this is true. I either have to buy sandwich meats in tiny portions or they go bad.

80+% of sandwich shops are extreme rip-offs.
