Who's more important to the Patriots: Brady or Belichick?

tried to make this as short as possible, while still explaining my stance.

Folks talk about how Brady is just a product of Belichick, but I think it's quite the opposite.

Let's not forget that Belichick went 36-44 at Cleveland and was fired. He lead them to ONE playoff game from 1991-1995. He went 5-11 in his final season even after starting 3-1.

When he got to New England, he had 1 losing season in 2000. This is still his only losing season as the HC for New England. This is also the only year in which Brady didn't start at QB. This was the year he was drafted.

The very next year the Patriots went 11-5 and won the Super Bowl. I think we all know the Brady story from this year when Bledsoe went down in the second game of the regular season. But let's not forget that Bledsoe lost the opening game to a bad Cincinnati team who eventually finished 6-10. Bledsoe goes down in game 2 vs the Jets, in comes Brady. The rest of 2001 is history and the Brady era begins.

So what I see is that as soon as Brady took over the starting QB job, the Patriots had a complete and utter turnaround from a 5-11 year to 11-5 and winning a Super Bowl.

So, let's discuss.

That's because it's Cleveland. Browns are doomed.

Belichick

A QB can't coach the whole team.

This is a dumb question.

I say Belichick because I think the way they've recycled coordinators and players on the defensive side and remained effective is incredibly impressive. They've done that on offense too, but I know he's a defensive guy and Brady could be the one responsible for the offensive success.

The way players on both sides of the ball buy into the Patriot mindset is also incredibly impressive. They eat up everything Belichick preaches, even guys who were trouble players elsewhere.

Both are in the elite class at their respective spots though all time.

A lot of people don't realize how serious that injury was to Bledsoe, particularly in the first 24 hours.

"Belichick said doctors had informed him that Bledsoe, who reportedly found it difficult to breathe normally in the locker room after the game, had had a tube inserted in his chest to drain blood from his torso yesterday morning."

I'm indifferent one way or the other, but this a fact: Belichick is the last coach to win a playoff game for the Cleveland Browns.

That's pretty mind-blowing in and of itself.

Brady missed 2008 due to injury and the Patriots didn't miss a beat. That tells you who's important.
