Deer Park is a month ahead of Norco and Convent. This won't be resolved until the USW gives up on the contractor issue. And if they do, they will have put their members that they are supposed to protect, out of a job.

I will say I feel bad for the local guys that have all their issues resolved but were instructed to strike by USW leaders. I really wish that they would all go back to work and get rid of the union.

The company never said they'd get rid of USW people working maint. The USW is trying to force more people hired to be " represented " by them. 3/4 of the membership is operations but the union ranks are " controlled " by maint. If people want to support the USW to publicly advocating to reduce our o/t opportunities then you stay out and support getting a smaller paycheck.

This week is a big week. These idiots need to show some real progress at the bargaining table or they'll lose everyone.

Word.
I believe they've lost majority already but everyone is just curious about Mondays outcome, if there is one!

Guys, I feel for you. I really do! Heck, my brother is on strike with you guys! Be smart, use this time to find a new job at a non-Union plant. Plants have been posting for positions lately, probably to lure you away. Apply, apply, apply.

Screw having someone else decide if you work or not. They don't feed your kids or pay your house note!!!

Everything is hinging on this week. So many people I've talked to said if there's no meaningful progress this week they are going back to work. At this point it's really getting to where they aren't showing they're committed to reaching a timely agreement and this week will be the Norco union's undoing. Not really sure how that would affect Norco down the road, but it's what they are about to be facing. The idiots in Pittsburgh screwed this shite up by pulling Norco to fight for things they already have. We're in different times now, people have to work. All will be lost, at least in Norco, if a deal isn't signed in the next 2 weeks imo.

I really do hope every Union member ultimately gets fired for listening to some bullshite organization, walking off their jobs for bullshite reasons, and then coming back like nothing happened because the law forces their employer to take them.

Nah. It needs to be said daily. Union members who strike for larger Union purposes are scum. They deserve to be unemployed.

I chose to work in a volatile market and now when things don't go my way, I take my toys and go home!

Thanks for the increase in gas prices you jackasses.
