Every day. One bad hit and it's done.
Thanks for agreeing

quote:Ok then. Sherman is risking his spot if he leaves as well then
So yes, as a non winner, he was risking his slot.

How? He just resigned for a nice payday, and he'll be paid regardless. He won't lose any sponsors by missing the game for this reason. So how exactly are they better off?
You don't think he'll get more sponsors if he wins the Super Bowl?
This is the most watched event in the US. This is part of the reasons the sponsors pay him.

No, which makes it an even easier decision. Thanks for playing.

Highly unlikely. He's not an unknown and won one last year.

And he just did it. Everyone already knows his value for marketability.

No, which makes it an even easier decision. Thanks for playing.

birth of first child, easily
Posted on 1/29/15 at 9:59 am to slackster
I can't believe so many said child birth. Super Bowl is a rare opportunity that only few get to experience. He's gpt the rest of his life to focus on raising his children.

I don't know how you're connecting these separate instances. You should probably stop calling other people dumb now.

Why not? They aren't equal.

I'm not in his shoes, but I would choose my child
I'm guessing his wife/girl(assuming it's a long term relationship type thing) wants him to play in the Super Bowl. You'd think a wife coming into a relation with an NFLer would almost have to understand(I know I know, pregnant women understanding...lol) the deal and know he's going to play in that game.
Also, there's no doubt that baby was a mistake, Sherman is a smart dude, he's not mistiming the planning of a child this poorly.

yea, the Super Bowl is so rare for him. it's his second straight year.

You're more marketable if you're on TV more. He becomes an even bigger star by playing
Also, I'm sure he has incentives for winning the Super Bowl built in, like Reggie and Drew did.
He already got this for making the pro bowl:
quote:
Richard Sherman recently achieved an incentive in his contract (not sure if it was for total snaps or being named to the Pro Bowl) that raised his 2014 base salary from $645k to $1.389M.

play the game, easy choice

He's the best corner in the NFL, he's not risking his career
Would alienate a lot of people in the fan base though if they lost

He can get on TV whenever he wants.

Maybe.

For starters world golf rankings have nothing to do with PGA Tour status.

You're doing a really bad job connecting those two. Nothing is guaranteed for Mahan, can't say that for Sherman. I'm guessing you won't admit that though.
