I'll go with UMass. I enjoyed watching the Calipari and Bruiser Flint teams in the 90s.

For basketball reasons, I'd want to coach at one of the better maac or colonial conference schools. The Student fanbases seem pretty strong and the schools are pretty close to a lot of major metro areas.
For quality of life id definitely go with Pepperdine or ucsb.

Wichita State.
they are all in for basketball as a school, and their arena is awesome

Downside is you live in Wichita and no matter what you would accomplish you would never top Kansas.

upside is you're the king of Wichita. and the fans of Wichita st. don't compare themselves to KU. The ones in Manhattan do

You're kidding yourself if you believe that. Wichita fans threw a fit when Wiggins, Baker, and another Shocker went to a KU game to watch Andrew Wiggins.
Every school at this level has to deal with being a "little brother" to a bigger school. Just so happens they get a ridiculous program in Kansas.

And you'd spend half your time as coach bitching for Kansas to play you in a home and home without realizing that will never happen.

Hey Chillini, have they done any renovations to Redbird Arena in recent years? Just curious because you said it's awesome.
I last went to a game about 12 years ago because I have a few friends that attended ISU. There wasn't a bad seat in the house, but it kind of felt like a warehouse when I was there.

I would pick Western Kentucky. Very nice arena, solid basketball history, great campus. You can win at WKU

Which is what Gonzaga doesnt have to do. For a mid major, they have become the top dog in the Pacific Northwest and play second fiddle to nobody. They are the premier program in that area. Thats why i think Gonzaga is a no brainer.

Nothing major that affects anything fans see. They did massive renovations on the locker rooms. The place all depends on the fans. If the team is good it's a great place. If not and its empty then you are definitely right. 12 years ago they sucked so that may explain it.

You're right. Forgot about Butler switching conferences.

The answer...They steal the west coast better players from WSU and Washington and the Oregon schools... Plus living in Washington would be cool............

I'll go with the Wyoming Cowboys.
-Laramie seems like a cool, low-key, laid back town to live in.
-You don't have the rapid kooks that treat their football or basketball team as it's life or death (see Alabama and Auburn football, Kentucky and Indiana basketball).
-Wyoming athletics are the lone wolf in the state as it is the one 4 year institution with athletics. I'd assume that everyone is pulling for you.
-The downside would be recruiting. Wyoming, obviously, doesn't produce a lot of talent and is the least populated state.
-However, the Cowboys are currently sitting at 17-3. So it isn't impossible to win there....

None of those are mid major programs. They may be in a conference with a lot of mid major teams.
