Have you considered getting an allergen test done? Also, sounds like you it's the same sinus infection; you never cleared it out of your system.

How long did it take you before you got used to it?
I have used a netti pot since 2008, but I have water pick at home. It took about 3 times to get used to the netti pot and about a week of using the water pick.

You may be living with Rhinotillexis Spiders.
They are nocturnal and are known to enter the mouths and noses of sleeping people to feed on mucous. In doing so they will most times cause infections.
The Life span of a Rhinotillexis Spider upon hatching is the first 2 or 3 that hatch will eat the other unhatched eggs the 1st couple days. They then will feed on mucous from a host for about 7-10 days (causing an infection to the host), then lay their eggs (usually on the underside of a mattress) and move to a damp and dark place (where they live on mold and mildew.
Egg incubation is anywhere from 81 days to 88 days depending on humdity.

Has the sinus surgery a year ago. Use to get 2-3 a year and just got my first one in 14 months since surgery.
They straightened my septum and cleaned everything out. Much happier now.
It's not that bad

Imo, most cases can be managed fairly well with a combo of an antihistamine, nasal steroid (ideally Dymista if your symptoms are bad enough, in which case the oral antihistamine may or may not be necessary), nasal rinses, and afrin when necessary while you are waiting on the shots to work.
If this doesn't do the trick, and you're still hesitant to move to surgery, no one would fault you for asking your doc for a leukotriene inhibitor (like Singulair). There's not great evidence in the literature, but anecdotally it does pretty well in helping to control a chronic sinusitis-like picture. It's also readily available, cheap, and relatively benign.

Does your nose look any different now? "Roman" noses run in the family and deviated septims w/ it. After my mom, aunts and uncles all got surgery they looked different. It's what stopping me from getting my nose fixed

I'm not reading all the posts to see if it was already said but if you haven't seen an Allergist/Immunologist I would suggest that. Not all allergists and immunologists,
Sometimes, it isn't just your allergies but a weakened immune system, which an Immunologist can check with a blood test. The same blood test can also be done to check your allergies as well.

1) how old are you?
2) is it after drinking beer or eating lots of bread?
3) is it at its worst in the morning?
I was waking up with terrible sinus problems in the mornings mainly and it was due to a wheat/gluten allergy that is recently developed. Beer sets it off terrible. Bread does it too. My GP says it comes with age due to modern diet.
Cutting out beer cures it for me.

Also Neti pot is the best treatment for sinus infections. 3 days of 3x daily will get rid of it. Natural and works.

I was in your same position years ago.
Too much histamine production that would hang around and muck up the works. ENT wanted surgery. I asked for his professional advice first. He suggested the following:
Mucinex 2xs a day with a Zyrtec. Works for me. Nothing left to cause an infection.
Good luck.

Good recommendation. Should have mentioned that myself. Personally, I'd strongly recommend the surgery route over that but I certainly understand why some people are hesitant to undergo surgery. The balloon sinuplasty and a turbinate reduction can be done under local anesthesia.

Allergies can certainly play a significant role in a bacterial or infection. Allergies lead to blocked sinuses which lead to backed up mucus (essentially a breeding ground for bacteria) and then to a sinus infection.

Food allergens certainly may cause sinus problems, but unless it's severe or there are other underlying conditions, I don't think so. Plenty of people have food allergens and no sinus problems resulting from them. Address the other potential causes listed throughout this thread before blaming bread.

It's effective, but I certainly wouldn't call nasal rinses the best treatment for sinus infections.

I had the same thing to the point they were putting me in the hospital because the infections would get so bad. Went to a ENT and found out I had developed allergies also had really bad sinus structure issues. Had a 3 hour surgery got on allergy medicine and after about 6 months I was a new man. The surgery is really easy to recover but the few visits afterwards were the get all the scar tissue out sucks monkey dicks but so so worth it. Haven't had a illness in over a year and a half since the surgery and I breathe so much easier, sleep better and have more stamina. Dr White in Gonzales is the ENT I went to and she's hot as frick and also good at what she does. She doesn't have the waiting list that most ENTS in BR have. Hope this helps.

Ballon sinuplasty if you are a candidate.

Me and Mrs. Flame get sinus infections pretty regularly. We started using a simple saline spray along with Cingular once/day. The saline kills the bacteria that causes the infection. It has helped a lot!

Take Olive Leaf. It will change that. I promise

I had several sinus infections every year for the first 40 years of my life. I started taking 250 mg of Vitamin C / day 15 years ago and I haven't had one since.

Ask your ENT about sinus surgery to open up your sinuses so they drain better. I've had it done and now only rarely get a full infection.
