Who is the ONE recruit that turned this program around back when we were not very successful (pre saban)?

Faulk is the best answer.

Kevin Faulk or Josh Reed. I'd lean toward Faulk

Dinardo locking down Kevin Faulk played a role in righting the ship

A lot of people argue Kevin Faulk, but my opinion is the duo of Clayton and Spears (package deal) because they were immediate impact players and the team was more successful during their tenure and after it. Spears was supposed to go to the U and Clayton to FSU from what I remember. Almost landed Larry Fitzgerald with Clayton in that class.

Bradie James was a good one for sure. He helped turn that D into something nasty good in 2001 and 2002.

I still think 2001 was the difference. Spears #3, Clayton #14, and Hill #15 in the nation. Faulk may have started a trend of sorts, but what the 2001 class did changed the program and we are still reaping the benefits.

Have to agree with Faulk

I still think it's Kevin Faulk.
Even as a very young kid even I knew who Kevin Faulk was.. When I couldnt name any other player around that time.

Who was that kid who lived in rural Alabama and his school didn't have a fax machine to send in his LOI?
