Wait times are down but I don't think they are down to 4 months. Probably closer to 6 months. However, if you buy another can at the 3 month mark, the time will fly by.
I sent my paperwork off 3rd week of June and received my stamp on Dec. 8 for my Element 2 so times are around 6 months at the moment.

The threads on the factory barrel are longer than the threads on the barrel threaded by the gunsmith. Oh and I don't have a spertre suppressor. AAC Element II
Don't know if the Element has the same thread depth issues. Was talking about the Spectre II, since it's one of the two the OP was looking at in his post.
Several threads about it on AR-15.com and /or Sniper's Hide FWIW.

just measured the threads on barrels. Factory CZ barrel that shoots fine and groups like it should has 0.6" threads. Barrels threaded by gunsmith are 0.4" these barrels don't shoot worth a flip with suppressor installed.
To OP if you have a long slim barrel I might think asking about the effects of adding a suppressor to a slim profile barrel.

My next purchase is a 7.62 can, what one should I get?
I have the AAC 7.62 SD. It's a big freaking can at 9" long. I should have gotten the SDN-6 but I wS buying 3 cans at the same time and trying to save a few bucks. That being said I would get a Saker 7.62.

That's a nice looking gun. The dealer also had a 22/45 Lite (just like the one in the pic) and a can was attached to it. I was surprised how well the pistol handled w/ the can on it. When I first started thinking about getting a suppressor I wanted to get a 22/45 Lite to go w/ it. Looking and handling the one at the dealer's started that "burning ring of fire" burning again.

Civiltiger07 and AUTImbo, I appreciate the experience you've both brought to the discussion. I'd never thought that how far the threads extend from the muzzle to the receiver could make a difference, but I see that now. I'm a little confused in that it seems as if y'all have polar opposite experiences w/ each other, but sometimes guns can be like that. I plan on sending an email to Silencerco and seeing what they have to say, as well.
I've got a friend locally who threaded a bunch of barrels; he said he'd help me w/ mine. I think I'll thread the factory barrel on my 30 yr old 77/22 and see how it shoots. If I don't like the results, I can get a new barrel. My barrel is 20" long and thin (OD 0.55"). I could see where altering the barrel harmonics could have either a good, or bad, effect on the accuracy of a barrel.

Why are suppressors so expensive for what they are? I feel like it's $20 worth of parts put into these things. $500-$1000 for one 5.56 suppressor seems like an incredible markup for a can with some baffles in it.
