I would worry about the hood popping up in mid-flight. Any Mobile, AL peeps ever see these?? LINK
"Five of these enormous planes make more than 60 flights each week, carrying parts for all of Airbus' planes from manufacturing sites -- wings in the UK, tails in Spain, for example -- to the final assembly facilities in either Toulouse, Hamburg or Tianjin." [Mobile??]

They should make fat passengers fly on that beast. Imagine some real hefties waddling into that cargo opening.

They aren't building planes here yet.

I flew on an Air France A320 yesterday. They seem to be popular short range jets out here.
I guess Airbus is trying to see some of those 737 sales in the US. Maybe building them in Alabama will help.

I'll refrain from flying on a plane named after a whale.

Isn't delta in the process of converting over to all airbus from boeing planes?

I love that plane. It looks like something you'd draw as a little kid, except that it actually works. I mean, that thing just looks totally impossible.

That thing should not be able to fly.

Not that I'm aware of. You'll probably see the 717s and MD-80s they use in places like Baton Rouge and New Orleans eventually replaced with the A310 or A320 at some point though.
The 777 is pretty popular with Delta's trans-Atlantic routes. It's going to be like that for a long time even as the A380 and 747 jumbos dwindle in popularity. Most of the Delta planes I've been on were Boeing products for the longer routes, and some kind of CRJ or MD contraption for the connections.

Airbus makes a horrible plane from what many pilots have told me.

Not looking forward to the day the last MD80s/717s are retired. Those are beautiful planes.

I saw one of those about 1.5 years ago flying south between Lake Chuck and the Texas border. At the time, I thought it was something from NASA.
Cool to know.
