It's going to be exactly the same stuff.
It's reheat chain stuff. They use shitty ingredients.

Except that it's not exactly the same thing.

The primary problem is that the parking lot is only accessible from westbound old hammond/corporate. pain in the arse to get in there. I hope it's good. This city lacks good margaritas.

That's my main hang up with it as if now. I work in that area and getting in/out of that parking lot is going to be a nightmare in an area where traffic is already a nightmare.

It's not like they are going to create some awesome menu and hire a skilled chef and let him do his thing.
The bulldog, lagers, and VC are pretty damn consistent with their food plan at their places

Believe me. I worked for bulldog.
Food will be exactly the same.
They are so "consistent" that a side of ranch is a measured out portion in a cup.
Side of fries? Comes from a baggie of portioned out fries. Unlike local joints that grab a fistful and toss them in the oil.

Me too.
Jones and I were just telling our friend who still works at the one here how stupid their app prices are combined with how strict they are about everything.

You want a side of ranch or bottomless ranch?? Ever heard of portion control?
Posted on 1/18/15 at 8:43 pm to Trout Bandit
I don't care about the ranch. Portioned side items and stuff seems a bit over the top.
They're dropping individual baggies of frozen fries instead of grabbing a handful of fresh cut fries. Lame:

quote:Do y'all expect me to believe that they are anal and detailed oriented about everything except how the food tastes? I never ate at Velvet Cactus, but I will be very surprise if their food at this BR location is anything less than average. And very few restaurants serve better than average food. So they are in good company, competitively speaking.

Besides, if such anal owners found out there was a problem with the food, they would fix it. Wouldn't they? If I spent 2 million bucks on a restaurant, I sure as poop would make sure the food was right.
So I have serious doubts that the food is "bad". It just doesn't jive with what the other stuff I see happening there.
But if the food was truly bad for some people, hopefully for Velvet Cactus' sake that this happened a year or two ago and the problem has been corrected, before bringing shite food to BR.
But none of this really matters. They open tomorrow and their market will be their judge.

Why worry how the food tastes when it doesn't really matter?

They have figured out a business model where the food doesn't matter. So they make it as cheap as possible.

ETA: I do agree that food isn't as important as one might think, competitively speaking. Very few restaurants actually compete on food. It's mostly service quality, atmospherics, noteworthiness, cleanliness and convenience. These things plus price create a value in customers minds, in which they use to subconsciously rank and rate restaurants.
So if a restaurant serves average food and excels at these other areas, they would do very well for themselves. But if they spent a little more effort on food, they would crush 90% of all competitors and sleep very well at night in a large and comfortable bed, in a large and comfortable house.

Yea because BR has a great rep for putting crappy restaurants in their place
