I'm pretty disappointed in this. I had a lot of respect for Russ before seeing this.

Get over yourself. He is normally very cordial with the press. They won the game, so maybe he was just tired or had something on his mind. It's not like the press would extend him the same courtesy that they expect.

I understand that, but it still happened. Why not just give the press what they want and be polite. It's part of your job.

There's history of him doing this.

I get the whole argument about these guys not playing for the media. Sure, answering questions might be annoying and maybe they shouldn't have to be obligated to do it.
Idk, maybe there's a happy medium to this whole thing. But I lose respect for guys who do this. I won't root against him now and don't think he's a bad person or anything, but come the frick on.
Fan interest and excitement is the only reason why professional athletes get paid the way they do. I was NOWHERE near successful enough to be on the level of these guys and my career was nothing but an absolute failure, but god damn if I'm not thankful for everything I've had. And 90% of it was due to the fact that people cared about what I was doing.
Act like you care Russ

Because I'm sure it gets annoying after a while. These guys do this almost every day. I'm sure it takes a toll.
Also, some guys just really don't like it, like Lynch.
Who is the a-hole? The guy who doesn't like the mic shoved in his face or the guy who knows this and does it anyway expecting pleasantries?

Don't think you can ever doubt how much Russ cares.

What does it matter? The only time these things are even notable is when something like this happens.

They are entertainers. They are nothing without the fans. The fans like hearing their opinions and their takes on the game. This is just whining, and I don't condone it. If any Pelicans player were to pull this stunt, I would lose a massive amount of respect for them.
Get over yourself Westbrook. You make more money in a month than most of your supporters will see in their lifetime. These same supporters that increase your salary cap and TV dollars, allowing you to make $20 mil a year guaranteed for the life of your contract.
This is worse than Lynch because he's an actual face of the NBA. Other players are relying on him to not make the league look bad. At least Sherman put effort into his opinions regarding the media and gave everyone a laugh with Baldwin.

The guy asking him questions apparently is a writer for the Oklahoman and has written several articles saying that Westbrook needs to go and that he's holding Durant and the Thunder back.

Marshawn Lynch is rubbing off on others

It's also weird that some guys do this because of the potential gains that can come from being an awesome guy in interviews.
It's probably tough to calculate, but how much money have Sherman or the Manning brothers made by simply being engaged with the media and fans? I bet it's a ton!

You realize that the media use to crucify Westbrook because they wanted him to be Steve Nash. Dude had a triple double in a game 7 and people still said he needed to pass it more to Durant. He is an alpha, always has been, and until recently did he start getting respect. I don't blame him one bit for disliking the media or stupid people who lose respect over something so dumb.

Looks like he had beef with a certain reporter there that pisses him off. A reporter who apparently is known to trash him and his teammates

There are a bunch of vaginas in this thread.
