Not surprising though in light of the daily stories about questionable police shootings.

I don't see a problem. They're just paper with pictures on it.

This is clearly intended to send a racist message in not so subtle reaction to the New York cop killings and the rage against cops in Ferguson MO.

This is stupid. Even if you were going to use actual pictures, the population in Miami is a huge mix of various races. You'd think at least one white and one latino would show up in that line up.

Now if you REALLY wanted to piss everybody off...put a woman on that list. A white woman.

If they use the standard body profile targets, they could be shooting anyone. At least here they're shooting people who have committed a crime

I think this is messed up. Also I can't even comprehend how someone thought this would be acceptable. Just my opinion.

I believe there was actually a study on the difference between shooting generic Q targets and shooting a target with a face regarding shoot don't shoot scenario training. Just FYI, we shoot each other when using simunitions.

Probably shouldn't admit this, but some of my class of future lawyers (this was way back in the early 2000's) would print out pictures of law professors and take them to a backwoods shooting range following final exams each semester. There was something cathartic about blasting away at those assholes after all the abuse they dished out. That and any kind of book, treatise, or other publication we didn't need for the Bar Exam. A .357 will do a number on a Louisiana Civil Code at close range--even if it's the gold-colored bicentennial edition that's like 4 inches thick.

It was usually an equal opportunity affair. We had future ADA's, future criminal defense, future ambulance chasers, and even future "respectable" members of the defense bar.

So in the police's defense, should they train for real life scenarios or use little circles to shoot at all day?

Ha, my Bluebook allegedly took several rounds of .308 from about 300 yards.

And when is this going to happen? Keep hearing about it but nothing.

I might make a push for it on the Help Board.

It needs to happen.

If anything I think it serves as a reminder that you're not practicing to shoot faceless pieces of paper

So if you showed up to the gun range one day and the local police department was using your families photos, you would not have a problem with this???
