we have good player development. We put as many players in the pros as anyone, much more than our recruiting class rankings would indicate. What we do poorly on offense is run a poor scheme that doesn't do much for highlighting our skill players abilities.

it's not just all about recruiting. But you have to have big time players if you want to win it all. A really poor scheme can crush your chances though, as in the Tepper years and possibly right now with Cam (however I believe he is willing to make changes)

It's not ALL about recruiting but that's a huge part.

Saban lost to ULM before he started pulling in #1 classes.

We whiffed on recruiting Cam Robinson.
We didn't even offer Dak.
If we had those two players with our current coaches we would have won the West this year and probably would've been undefeated.

If you're arguing that coaching is more important... 3 well timed sacks would've given us the West as well.

We got upgraded recruiting and DL coaching with O.

Given the circumstances, it's far from the worst possible outcome.
If Shoop was really in play and we passed up for Steele's recruiting, then yeah, I'd be pissed.

we've been doing something wrong on the DL and the LB. for that matter, maybe the OL has been lacking a bit too.

and in the last two years wee have new.......

LB, DL and OL coaches. Seems like Miles got this on lock-down.

It's not about the X's and the O's,

It's more about the Jim's and the Joe's.....

Well with a stud recruit at QB maybe things are different. Recruiting is definitely the base of what you build on. Yeah, there's busts, but every team has their share

And look at that 2009 class
I think that one worked out pretty well
