I've already looked on eBay and craigslist and local pawn shops but not really finding what I'm looking for.
Any other good online places to look for electric guitars?

I would never ever buy a guitar I couldn't hold and play first.
Try local music stores and guitar center. Guitar center has a used selection. And local music store clerks could definitely point you in the right direction.

I tried to sell an awesome guitar on ebay and Craig's list, the only responses I got were for trade requests off ebay, and scam attempts for Craig's list

What are you looking for?

There is a guy in New Orleans named Steve Staples. Has his own shop, but I can't remember the name.
I know he sells a lot of vintage guitars. He sold a few to Bruno Mars the last time he was in town, I believe. If he doesn't have what you are looking for, I am pretty sure he can put you on the right track.

I've only bought 1 used guitar online and it was a mistake. Buying new online or buying fixer-upper guitars online can be a real treat, but the odds of purchasing a used guitar online only for it to arrive at your home in the box ready to play and sounding exactly how you want are 1,000,000:1. Never buy used unless you can hold it in your hands, pluck the strings, and plug it in.
With that being said, Craigslist is a great place to look as you have the convenience of browsing online paired with the proximity to check it out in person.
Hitting up local guitar stores (like The Perfect Guitar, Allison's, Zeagler's, ect) and pawn shops is also a must.

Guitar Center lists their used guitars online

I've never bought from CL, but I've bought 5 used guitars off of Ebay, 1 amp, and countless effect pedals.
Ibanez Xiphos XPT700
ESP EC1000
Fender American Standard Telecaster
Fender American Stand Jazz Bass
Martin Custom D
All were great guitars and deals, all the sellers were also guitar shops from around the country.
None of which I would have had immediate access to.
If you're careful, there is nothing to worry about, and many of the licensed dealers will give a full refund if you're unhappy.
Also, soapbox, never shop at Guitar Center and please support your local music stores even if they aren't local to you.

We just had a Guitar Expo here in O-town last weekend. Thousands of instruments to check out. Maybe you should look for such an exhibit near you.

Maybe try a Nashville used musical instrument online store?
