Les Miles started reading Bama forums and saw that their fans thought Steele is a better DC and so he texted Smart, "Sorry bro" and then he made the hire

It all played out as planned. Miles had Saban so consumed trying to figure out how to keep Kirby, he never saw Miles sneak in the back door and steal the golden goose!

Anyone who honestly thought we would hire Smart when he was getting paid more at Bama than Chief was getting paid at LSU has no sense of reality.
