Could of been worse. I am ok with the hire. Not want I wanted but he can recruit and if he sucks, Miles gets fired. Win/win in my book.

It ain't X"s and O"s it's the Willies and Joes. We better hope this is true.

Decided to google 'Kevin Steele'.

This is what I saw in the right hand corner:

quote:

Kevin "Homerun Hire" Steele is the current defensive coordinator for LSU, who is 4-0 against Texas A&M in their last 4 meetings, and fully excpets to win their 5th straight this coming season.

I guess we know what this is about.

Miles is not getting fired no matter what Steele does. His buyout would be 15 to 20 million.

What happened to all those guarantees from self-styled people in the know that we would all love the hire when it was finally revealed?

Can we collect now? Do we each get a thousand bucks or something for
this major malfunction?

Imagine our offense with a swiss cheese defense. Durn sure ain't worried about contending.

Very disappointed. Although I feel he will do Okay with our defense...it is not the "big name" hire that I would have liked. I guess Chavis had a damn good reason to leave and I don't think it was money related. I have liked Miles and been a big supporter but I am starting to think that this is the beginning of the decline possibly. Hope not.

Kind of how I feel

For once I'm really hoping I eat crow with this prediction and that he comes into his own and kicks arse.

Steele was DC for Alabama in 2007 which was Saban first year and in 2008 he and Keith Smart were co-DCs.

He has landed:

New #LSU DC Kevin Steele just landed at BR airport: "It's a very, very exciting time. This is a special place."

Steele loads belongings into SUV after landing. "This is a special place, and everybody in football knows that." #LSU

Kevin Steele declined to answer any more questions after departing the plane. Presser Wednesday at #LSU.

I saw the decline coming in his first presser and started my hatred for Les after his 2nd game where he blew the 21-0 halftime lead over TN to lose the game 30-27. The man has made millions for himself off of sheer dumb luck and state that produces tons of NFL talent.

Could have been worse....those words were used a lot in the 90s, and it kept getting worse.

You can thank Alleva for Miles buyout. He's NOT getting fired unless you have an extra 15-20 million fricking dollars laying around!
