What do you have for me OT? Would like a good book about WWII, preferably something fairly broad but focusing on the military campaign itself.

With the Old Breed, Eugene Sledge

Not a book, but Strategy and Tactics magazine is good. There's a specific subscription focused on WWII.

That's a good one.
Easy Company Soldier by Don Malarkey
Flyboys by James Bradley
War in the Boats by William Ruhe
My Hitch in Hell by Lester Tenney (I actually attended an engagement at the WWII Museum where he spoke about his experiences in the Bataan Death March)

Are you looking for an overview of the entire war?

While it doesn't have a broad focus, The Forgotten Soldier is a great read.

Right now I'm reading the first book of the Liberation Trilogy by Rick Atkinson. He won a Pulitzer Prize in History for it.
It's called "An Army at Dawn: The War in North Africa 1942-1943" LINK /
The second book covers Italy, and the third book covers Normandy to Berlin. The trilogy does not cover the Pacific.
It's been great so far.

Yea, but I guess I'd rather it focus on Europe.

D Day by Ambrose
Also , Pegeses Bridge.
Not real broad but couldn't put them down.

A War to Be Won was pretty good and fairly succinct given the scope of the subject matter. If I recall it separated theater events by chapters, so you can skip Pacific or come back to it later.

D-Day by Stephen Ambrose (about D-Day obviously)
Citizen Soldiers by Stephen Ambrose (picks up where D-Day left off and covers the war in Europe)
Killing Patton by Bill O'Reilly was also pretty good and covers a good bit of the push through France.

It's not WW2 but if you like history, "Storm of Swords" is really good and full of interesting history that rarely gets taught in school these days.
