You are correct. Baton Rouge has GOOD FOOD and they banked everything on zero market research. If they did do research then they should fire the researchers and close down and reopen.
not sure why they think they are real cajun food.... that place hasn't been "real" in over 15-20 yrs. The one in henderson is terrible and caters to tourist, the old man's food has long been gone. I spent a lot of time in henderson growing up. My grandma and aunt lived there. The food was good back in the day, but shite so was the landrys there as well.
I wouldn't expect them to think they needed to do anything b/c they think they are superior.... meaning the family.

A previous thread bashed the shite out of it. A poster said they told their server to tell the chef the food was bad. The server replied that the chef didn't like it when people insulted his cooking.

Pretty much sums up your point.

in Henderson, they are a big fish in a small pond. They are a destination restaurant. People travel there out of nostalgia to eat. If the food sucks, oh well it was still fun going there.
when they entered the baton rouge market, they are a small fish in a big pond. with their current menu, there is no way they can compete. Parrains blows that place out of the water (in price and in quality).
