What gets me is when they don't know the rules.

Perfect example... This weekend at a basketball game, had a kid crossing half court. He had crossed the half court line with the ball, but both feet were behind the line. He got pressure and backed up.. The ref called back court. I argued that it was not back court bc all 3 points must cross but he argued it was just the ball. I quit arguing bc I thought maybe there was some rule change I didn't know about. He was certainly wrong though.

Did this happen in Baton Rouge?

There is the MAIS. Much more professional and less nonsense. Know the rules better and actually know how to present themselves.

If they have the best officials, how could they put that garbage crew on a championship field for Neville and Warren Easton?

Baseball playoffs last year, bases loaded, two outs, full count. Batter swings at curve ball, ball hits the batter's foot and bounces toward one of the dugouts. The batter hops towards first base backwards, pointing to his foot. The home plate umpire signals strike three. In the scramble to find the ball, some 75 feet from the plate, two runs score.
I'm this scenario, and being a playoff game, one would expect the other two base umpires to tell the plate ump about the pitch hitting the batter. However, only two officials showed up to officiate the game. And the base umpire apparently was not paying attention, so the runs were allowed to score, the third runner was allowed to advance and the batter proceeded to first on the third strike passed ball.
Had I been the coach, I would have spent the rest of the game on the bus.
These were Shreceport officials, by the way.

If I am interpreting the rule correctly, it should have been ruled dead ball and strike three when being hit by a ball during a swing and a miss.

That's my belief as well.

The game was a scoreless tie at the time of this play.
The next batter hit a two run double.
Really costly mistake.

Daryl from Nola is a piece of shite for sure. Disrespectful to a 75 years old former ref who is a volunteer coach for freshmen
