Always thought that was a cool name for a band; at least it was back then...
First same them in around 1969, they would cover very complex tunes most of the other local bands wouldn't attempt.
" Reelin in the Years" with full guitar solos and duets.
"Aqualung" with singer doing the flute solo,
"Blackwater" by Doobies, with the pedal steel parts.
Any of the band members could have been the lead singer in another band, they did great harmonies on stuff like Yes's "Seen All Good People".

JT is a good friend of mine from college, we were in the same fraternity. The drummer for the Guttersharks was my roommate in college and a fraternity brother.
JT is back in NOLA, from NC. Runs his own recording studio. He played for a good while with Blind Melon.

I forgot about Trinity, they were awesome. I remembered Maniaxe and Redline. Also Razor White was badass.

The Circuit Breakers
Speaking of Baton Rouge musician history - one thing I always liked was that the Circuit Breakers would play some Slim Harpo, and they took the time and expense to fix up his grave. I learned a good bit about music history from them, fun band too.
Duke Bardwell is a friend of a friend. I met him many years ago when he opened a restaurant outside of Destin and we all ate there one night.

Does anybody remember a kid named Troy Turner?
He was good, saw him a number of times, late 80's to early 90's time frame.
Kenny Neal was another from the same period - very talented. Son of Raful Neal who I saw several times too, mostly at Blues Fests.
Charmaine Neville is a third from that era that I enjoyed seeing. I still remember her at the first Earth Day celebration in Baton Rouge, and the piles of garbage everywhere because they didn't put out enough trash cans.

I saw some of those bands at a place called Secrets that was at the corner of Highland Road and Staring Lane. There was also called Flight that used to play there who had a really hot, blonde, singer. I believe her last name was Gautreaux.

I've lurked around these boards for ages and this topic's compelled me to finally chime-in. I was just thinking about a band some friends and I used to see on a regular basis at the Rusty Nail called "Paleface." The guitarist was a talented son-of-a-gun named Joe Batson. They covered the hits of the era by bands like Alice in Chains, Stone Temple Pilots, and Ozzy Osbourne. Batson taught guitar lessons in the area, too. Any recollections of this?

Yes, good memory. The BR rock scene and the venues were so much fun back then.
I do remember the band with the girl singer also, I think you got her name right.
