Anyone have any experience with them? I'm thinking about getting a boat that is rigged with a 200 that has 368 hours on it already,
Any knowledge is appreciated.

I love mine. Oil is expensive though.

I blew up two Ficht 225's.
E-Tecs are rebranded Fichts, with few changes
Gave up and went F-250

No they aren't. cmon bruh. Etechs are solid motors. Use Etech oil only. The tolerance between the rod bearings are so tight you will burn them up if you use any other oil. That's a good thing though. Great motors. Very lightweight and powerful. You won't find another motor pound for pound better tbh.

Same block, same injectors
Little changes to the EMM

I have a 250 that I love.....don't get to use it enough.....like others said, the oil isn't cheap but get the real deal
It's got a nice rumble to it at idle and I think wide open it's no louder than my buddies F250
WAY better hole shot than four strokes
Had some Ocean Pro 200s that were awesome so I was high on Evinrude to start with
Running some Suzukis now that I'm not real happy with. I've had to tinker with them more than any other outboard I've owned. So far they haven't crapped out on me so they've got that over a couple of Mercurys that just completely let go on me.
My opinion as far as make:
1) Evinrude
2) Yamaha
3) Suzuki
4)Mud Buddy/Gatortail
5)Prodrive
6)Minnkota
7)Paddle
8)Swim
9)Drown
10) Mercury

I know that's fricking harsh. The new merc 4 stroke 150s are on par or better than a yammy. The opti is a solid motor too. And I don't think its a fluke that you see a lot of verados running around.

For those that responded do you think 368 hours is ok and what range of hours should I expect to get with this motor? I have only owned Yamaha and Suzuki before and both were brand new and sold with about 300 hours on them.

368 is nothing on today's outboards. Get the motor checked out by a an evinrude mechanic. If everything checks out I would not hesitate to buy it. Etecs are solid.

I would be more willing to buy a 2 stroke with that many hours than a 4 stroke as long as they used the evinrude oil the whole time.

Yeah my Mercury hate is from personal perception and being shite on multiple times by a Merc. All of the brands have blown up on me at some point. Other brands seemed to at least be fixed after repairing, Mercs never were right for me after repairs.
I know lots of people love them and hate my favorites. At the end of the day I think they are all getting better and better.
I'm sure at some point in my life I will have to give Mercury a try again but it will be a long, long time.
OP, 368 hours doesn't scare me but also don't expect to be flawless. If the compression check turns out good all else is superficial (to me). Plan on changing the water pump, lower unit oil (and maybe a seal) at a minimum.
General condition of power head under the cowling and of the skeg tell a lot of how the engine was run and cared for IMO

Finding a good outboard mechanic is the key to motor reliability & longevity.
With that said, we get a lot better reliability out of Mercury motors on our work boats.

Mercury is the best outboard made.

It's so much about an individuals experience. Not doubting this at all. I personally haven't seen a Mercury on a workboat in years except for one I bought that's a Yankee boat.
And let the pissing contest begin redneck......give us your experience......I am always curious about the love with bass fisherman for Mercury, I don't think they run them so much because they suck
