Difference betwen the right and left - it all goes back to Santa.
Most of us, when were were little kids, were told that the amount of loot that Santa brought us every Christmas depended on how good we are are during the year. If we are bad - we get shite - if we are good - we get what we want.
As it turns out - that is a bullshite lie. The amount of loot you get from Santa primarily depends on how financially able your parents are. This is the hard reality and every reasonable person knows this to be true. If your parents actually put coals and soot in your stocking on behalf of Santa because they deemed you bad - then either they were really fricked up cold hearted people, or you were seriously a fricked up kid (In reference to the latter, sorry LSUpimp, no offense)
The primary difference between righties and everyone else is that righties - still believe this bullshite lie.
Please discuss this amongst yourselves. I will be back to comment after I get over my hangover and play with my kid and his new set of railroad tracks that he got not because he was good (which he is, BTW, except when he is biting me or feeding the dog the pancakes he insisted I cook for breakfast), but because his folks and grandfolks happen to have good jobs.

I've been good my whole life and it led me to a good job with good pay. The economy is Santa Claus. I guess santa really delivers based on the behavior of your parents.

Sometimes it's just better to keep your thoughts to yourself.

I once got a bycycle for CHRISTmas. Does that mean I have 'white priviledge'?
Really man. You are one miserable person. The gift is in your heart.
Learn that and you will be a lot happier in life.

They are plenty of kids who received lots of presents yet their hearts are empty and on the flip side there are kids who received very little and their hearts are full of love and happiness.

The pancake represents the life lessons that you have given your child. He has already recognize that the lessons are weak and have given them to the dog.
He is seeking the truth and all that is decent and kind. Rebel with a cause. Welcome young tuba!!!

The irony is a large % of lower middle class/poor kids get more shite for Christmas than upper middle class/rich kids because upper middle class people don't blow all their money on stupid shite for their kids.
Go to an apartment complex and look at the number of Lexus/infinity/Cadillac vehicles. Go to a middle upper class neighborhood and see Hondas/Toyotas.
Once you accept the majority of poor people in this country are poor by choice, but by not allowing people to choose is worse, you move forward and let those who make good choices succeed.

I would say that it sure sucks to be a liberal right now.......but it seems you are finding out......much to your chagrin......that it sucks to a liberal ALL OF THE TIME!!

Seriously, I believe this is the first time I've seen a left/right point of view applied to Christmas.
FWIW, if you'd keep Christ in Christmas you'd prolly not see Christmas as a left/right divide. Peace.

Actually, the only BS lie is your post. Little kids don't care about the price tag. You can get at least 2 or 3 good presents for less than $50. If your parents are really poor, just about every church has a toy drive and the Marines run the Toys for Tots program. Of course, that means making friends with teh ebil churches and military but if you truly care about the kids you would set your personal feelings aside and help.
Another fail in your theory: it was generally accepted (when I was growing up) that Santa doesn't bring a large number of gifts. It's usually one or two that come from him and they're simple.
Finally, you might want to educate yourself about the real Santa, St. Nicholas of Myra. He always used Christmas as an opportunity to give to the poor. So Santa represents the fact your parents' income doesn't have to affect your Christmas. Good people will voluntarily keep that from happening.

I'm very conservative and we never taught or kids there was a Santa Claus for multiple reasons. One was, we wanted them to know that the gifts came from hard work and it didn't magically appear. This gave them a more realistic idea of what could be afforded by us and lessened disappointment.

Actually in 15th century England if you were bad you got beaten with a stick on Xmas day. The tradition did not come to America with the colonists but we still have the expression 'bundle of sticks' brought to bad children instead of gifts.

Wait, the premise of this dumb rant is that people on the right believe that a made up holiday character brings you more if you're good and less if you're bad, but progressive, Girls-watching douches know otherwise?
At least your son got RR tracks. I'm honestly shocked you didn't get him a model gentrifying Harlem complete with community organizing offices and a diverse citizenry bonus pack.
"Hey Dad, can i play PS4?
No Acorn, keep playing neighborhood rally, you're going to get that water initiative passed, remember?"

I don't think this is true, but your overall point is probably true.

I don't even have words.
You guys ever feel like that? You read a post, you start to reply, and then realize that there just isn't even a starting point?

Who knows whether you truly have lived your life correctly until the day comes when our world is explained to us after death. It may be true that your beliefs were flawed and therefore you lived out a life that was deemed incorrect or that might be my beliefs that are flawed.
Santa was a capitalist invention for sure to get everybody spending money. The true life of Jesus was his teachings of helping those in need, how you treat the poor, how you treat them is how he will recieve you. So in theory that sounds more liberal than conservative.
Good pay , good job what about people who are according to you live a 'good life' in everything but don't have the capabilities of having a good paying job and live week to week. What does Santa mean to his or her family?
