How much did it drop during the great oil crunch of the mid-80's?
Posted on 12/22/14 at 2:54 pm to stout
That's my point. The linked site makes it seem as if oil caused the economic crisis in 2008.

If LA and TX are gonna put all their eggs in 1 basket, people can't be too surprised when a historically volatile market takes a turn for the worse.

The price drop is OPEC trying to force a slowdown in the shale boom exploration/drilling.
I expect prices to stay low for 4-6 months and then you will see prices skyrocket back up to earlier 2014 year levels.

Saudis intend to put Putin out of business by breaking his economy. It might work.

He is saying LA and Texas need other industries not so dependent on Oil. Diversify.

I think they are less concerned with Putin and more concerned with their status as the controller of surplus supply which was taken by the US. They'd like to put a few of the marginally profitable shale gas outfits out of business.

yep, La and Texas had never seen anyting like it and havent since.
2009-2010 was well on it's way to being close, until the BP oil spill saved a lot of peoples asses and the Spillionaires were born.

absolute nonsense.
the SPIKE in commodity prices (oil, food etc) is what popped the housing bubble and lead to the recession.
This guy has absolutely NO idea what he's talking about and is just selling fear and panic.
