Idle threats. Think about this, if NK is linked to an attack on US citizens/soil then they as a nation/govt would pretty much cease life as they currently know it.
I find it hiliarious that these fools bowed down to some idiot...

Don't get me started on Benghazi.

There does need to be an action by our government on this though.

I think Sony was looking at this as a value attack to the company.
The stock price was their concern.

If this hack group claimed that they were going to do "9/11 type" terrorist stuff, then yes, they need to.

There doesn't need to be a DIRECT action but this is certainly actionable by our government by using this as a giant wake up call.
It's a frivolous cyber attack on an entertainment corporation. It should be used as a case study to take stock of vulnerabilities.
And figure out ways to exploit others.

If they released the movie, even the most minute form of violence at a movie theater and Sony will be swarmed by lawyers from people looking for a quick buck.
Sony's lawyers probably told them it would cost less to pull the film all together from theaters than it would in possible law suits.

my bad, I missed that last part. I read a snippet about it yesterday and what I said was the only part I remembered.

The threat was that they have a massive collection of data on Sony employees(CEOs, upper management, all the way down) like credit card info, SSN, address, phone numbers, family info, etc and they would release all that to the public if the film was shown.
My sources say this is what it was, a lot of damning info/emails that were going to get out. KJU did not take being the subject of this film lightly. Apparently there was some highly personal information that exposes a lot of Execs.
*By sources, I mean I made all that shite up like 2 seconds ago. F NK.
I would have gladly paid to see it and would have laughed my arse off (Well more than likely not, but you get the point).

Who should be able to even mumble these words in earshot of the U.S.?

our gov't is cancelling it because they think making light of killing a foreign leader is taboo and they are a bunch of pussies, so they made this whole story up

Our government is learning how to best control the media for later...

We need to blast a hole in the globe where N Korea is just for insinuating this kind of shite.

Telling you that Sony will get insurance money and end up no worse off than if the movie bombed, which it might have.

Here's where I strongly disagree.
Today this is a film company. Tomorrow it's the power grid. Where is the US response? If they don't begin taking this seriously - publicly - as a terrorist attack, then when the next shuts down half the US, we can't all say "Who knew?"
