Would be interesting to see Rich Rod in South Bend. Would imagine they'd immediately target Mora and Stoops has always had interest.

Saban to coach a team in each conference next year. Ascend to Heaven after coaching each team against himself in the playoffs.

I bet their top targets would be Stoops, Mora, and Dantonio.

My guess is that Mullen would be their fallback option (he coached there as a GA with Meyer).

Rich Rod, Dantonio, or Shaw would end up with that job IMO.

What's the interest in Kelly from the NFL? What has he accomplished that indicates he would succeed as an NFL HC?

He wanted a NFL job bad after the run to the national title game. His stock is low now. He had interest in Philly job until Kelly got it.

Dantonio at Notre Dame would be a guaranteed 10 wins a year. He could win them a title.

Urban Meyer is in a good place but always heard it was his dream to coach at ND.

Why does everyone bring up Shaw with every coaching vacancy?

I think the Falcons will make a run at David Shaw.

If the Brian Kelly norm holds true...wouldn't the next hire need to be Butch Jones?

I agree with this, but I don't know if ND would go after him or not. I live all of about 7 miles from NDs campus, and I can tell you that fans would riot if they took MSUs coach. There is some pretty personal bad blood with that school locally here.

Not saying that fan buy-in would be a determining factor for ND, but It would be a huge PR effort to bring him in.

People here really hate him and MSU

I highly doubt they would offer him and I think ND is too much of a rival for Dantonio to go there. After Michigan and maybe OSU, that would be the dirtiest place he could go in the minds of MSU fans. Plus, Dantonio has it rolling pretty well at MSU and doesn't have to worry about the academics as much.

I think Kelly will ride it out one more year, then jump if his stock is still high.
