The REAL problem with incidents like this isn't the cops. Its the fricking rubber stamping judges out there.

Yup, these incidents dont happen in a vacuum. It takes inane laws, and then spineless officials to endorse them first.

Judges should be held accountable, but obviously police tactics are a major part of the problem with these. And it is typically a prosecutor who prepares the warrant request. But, again, nobody is forcing these guys to go in guns blazing.

Supposedly the warrant in this case wasn't even the 'no knock' variety.

No knock warrants may be a good idea for truly violent criminals that pose a great threat to the community and are worth taking into custody and this idea of no knock warrants was intended for that exact scenario and to only be used rarely.

We just didn't anticipate the pussified and nutless judges that either couldn't care less or just has the same attitude as the cops and prosecutor who will abuse the frick out of this idea.

It needs to go the way of the dodo bird.

This. Judges sign off on warrants to not appear soft on crime. The threshold for justifying a no knock warrant should be extremely high. For the safety of the homeowner and police.
