but most kids living in a household of $70k-$100k to my knowledge are not in public schools.

High school tuition is a lot more expensive now than it was for me.

Yeah, I couldnt afford Catholic high tuition..
i also lost tops, and now work in fast food to help pay for tuition. I know of poor white families then poor black families . ive met rich black families.
