Would anyone have any complaints with the teams that got in?

GT, Ole Miss, and Arizona would be the snubs.

Picturing an eight-team playoff

That actually, by coincidence, is the totally logical cutting-off point IMO. All the good 2 loss teams.

Looks pretty good. First two rounds should be on campus at the better seed. Which keeps being 1 and 2 important along with keeping the regular season important.

Also playing on campus eases all of the travel cost burdens for fan bases which would have to travel three times which would kill attendance. Four times if you throw in conference championship games.

If there were eight teams, there would be much more scrutiny for the last spots, and Ole Miss would get it over Miss State due to head to head win and better OOC schedule.

The playoffs would be amazing to watch. Could you imagine a day with all of those games back to back?

GT wouldn't be a snub in this scenario.

Gotta win to keep playing. We didn't do enough.

Not me. I think there are only 6 truly deserving.

Miss State lost their last 2.
Ole Miss. No way. Choked down the stretch.
GT lost at home to Duke and then to UNC.

AZ and Michigan State would be the next 2 for me though.

But once you get past 6, I'd be a bit ambivalent. I think 8 is perfect for football.

This makes for way better matchups than the current bowl system and would be far more fun to watch on TV.

The day we get a round of 16 with 8 top 16 matchups across a weekend will be couch nirvana

As much as I have said I don't want an 8-team playoff, I must say that bracket looks pretty badass.

Yes. There will always be snubs. There are 68 teams allowed into the NCAA tourney and there are still complaints.

It will not stop, ever.

That would have been an epic postseason. I don't see how anyone could argue that Michigan St (assuming the "least qualified" team on that list wins it) would be an unworthy national champion with a 13-2 record with wins over Bama, Ohio St, and Oregon.

It would be difficult to put the right 10-2 teams in it most years, though. But it would always make for an great tournament.
