Samsung Tablets - What is the best one on the market?

Looking to buy my wife one for Christmas. I'm not buying an Ipad, so I figure the Samsung tablets are the next best thing. She will mostly be using it to browse the internet and edit pictures that she takes. Im pretty tablet ignorant, so any guidance would be appreciated.

I just bought a Galaxy Tab S 10.5. It's their flagship tablet line and I'm more than satisfied with it.
They offer it in a 8.4 in screen too, but the 10.5 is so light I picked it.

I have a Samsung and I like it but a lot of people swear by the Nexus
Note Pro is probably the best Samsung

quote:why not? as an Android lover I can still say this: the iPad is still the best nonWindows tablet on the planet. The optimized app availability and performance is just better, plain and simple.
I'm not buying an Ipad

Because im not spending $600 on an Ipad when I can buy something equal that is a different brand for half of that. Plus I hate apple products, even though I have an iPhone...that I hate.

You should have jumped on the Kindle Fire HD that was half off earlier today. It's gone now though.

It was the Gold Box deal on Amazon today until they sold out. I think the 64GB HDX with wifi and 4G was $159. Normally $300.
It was last gen model but still a hell of a deal.

Just so i understand how the kindle ones work, it operates off of your Amazon account?

Kindles are great if you want an inexpensive tablet and don't care about not having Google services. You get all Amazon services that you have on your account but you're limited to the Amazon App Store for apps. Although it has most of the apps that you'll want. The last gen Tab Pros from Samsung will probably suit her needs.

I have a Nexus 9, using it way more than I've ever used my iPads.

I bought a Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 on Black Friday. Like it so far. I'm using it to post this.

Nexus 9,
Still love my Nexus 10. The only problem with the Android tablets in general is the screen ratio. I like the Ipad ratio better but I heard the Nexus 9 has a better one.

It's good. Moreover, the size is the perfect tablet size IMO. It's overpriced though, I got mine for about 350, which is probably more appropriate.
