I have a 4" Python. It was handed down from my grandpa. It's smooth as butter, trigger is great but I don't think the price they are currently demanding really is reasonable, at all. I like my S&W's more than the Colt. If you already have one, you have a great piece of history but I dang sure wouldn't go pay market value for one.

Never owned but want. Shot 6". I'm a S&W revolver guy, but the action on a Python is the best out the box on any revo ever.
IMO, of course.

Yep.
Very fine revolvers. Not worth street price though IMO. Pre-lock smiths are of similar quality and can be found for much less money.
Pythons are extremely fine guns.

Love it. Wish I had bought one years ago when they were reasonably priced. Great shooting revolver.

I've shot both and have an 8", wish I had bought all I could afford.

Great revolver
I prefer s&w model 19/66(pre lock) for trigger though

The problem owning a Python today is if you ever need it worked on there are only a handful of smith's that do Colt revolver work anymore. An action job costs $400-500 the last time I checked. They are like a Rolex. They look great but are high maintenance and a time will do the same thing for a fraction of the price. The being said a 6 inch Nickel Python is on my bucket list.

Yes. Just make sure you have ear protection on if you do this.

Inherited a 6 in blue one and a 6 in blue diamondback .22 lr from my grandpa a few years ago when he passed. Haven't shot either. I don't want to take a chance on them becoming damaged
