If Les leaves, does Alleva hire David Cutcliffe?

Alleva hired him at Duke before coming to LSU.
Pretty solid coach with head coaching experience in the SEC.
He has won at Duke, which is incredible.
Worked with Chavis at UT for years, so maybe Chief stays to coach the best D in college football next year.
Might be a good fit.
If Les leaves, I bet he is the first call Alleva makes.

I would be ok with that hire. Keep chavis, wilson, and hire orgeron for recruiting.

He's up there in age, so idk. Wed just be doing this again in a few years. I think he's a good coach, should have been given more time at Ole Miss. I can't believe they expected to improve after Eli left.

Is Miles too old?
Fwiw,
He's one year younger than Miles?

8miles is a genius. I really think this would be the perfect anti saban, anti freeeeeze, anti gus, combination.

No. He hires Adam Gase. He's head coach and play caller allowing Wilson to stay as OC/RB coach, splitting recruiting coordinator with new DL coach orgeron who is friends with his Father-in-law, Saints coach Joe Vitt.

Our QB play would DEFINITELY improve.

He is not cut out to be a big time head coach. I think what went down at OM soured him on it. He wants to recruit his type of player, and coach them up, and he's pretty stubborn about it. Duke is a really good fit for him to be able to do this, and I'm sure he knows it.
Speaking of stubbornness, we all complain about this with Les. However, do you guys know why Cutcliff got fired at OM? He was initially told he could stay because of his past success, but he had to make staff changes. They had fallen far behind in recruiting. He flatly refused, and decided to back his guys, no matter what. The OM administration gave him more than one chance to back down, but he wouldn't. They finally fired him, but the consensus among the sports media here in Memphis was that OM did not go into their negotiations wanting to fire him. He forced their hand.
So you guys just THINK Miles is stubborn. He has sent staff members packing, even guys he is really tight with. In each case, he did what needed to be done. We don't need a guy here who isn't willing to do the same.

Alleva isn't making this hire all by himself. He is going to be a small part of it. The Taf has the war chest to pay the coach, they will have the biggest say.

We are all just having fun here and we all know that Miles is likely going no where, but if he does , I dont think Alleva eventhough he may be the AD in name is going to have much to do with the hiring of a new Football coach. Oh he may stand in front of the podium and try to grab some photo ops but you can rest assured that TAF and others behind the scenes will be the ones doing the search and making the decision on the next Football head coach at LSU. Just like when Joe Dean introduced Nick Saban, who was up there with him but the Chancellor Mark Emmert who was the real pulse behind the scenes of LSU landing Nick Saban.

I really like Cutcliffe but he would be at best a lateral but mostly likely a downgrade from Les.

Great coach, but has health issues.
Duke is a basketball school where winning in football is not as high of a priority, and when they do win, it's lagniappe. Therefore, the stress levels are lower, which is ideal for a guy like Cutcliffe.
