If this guy can get the Arizona Wildcats to contend for a spot in the Rose Bowl, he could do wonders at LSU and he is my guy if Les leaves.
1998 was the Offensive Coordinator at Tulane when they were undefeated and score 30+ points in all but two games.
Followed Tommy Bowden to Clemson and helped turn that program around before moving to W.V. as head coach.
Watching Brandon Harris play in the fourth quarter against Miss. State, I couldn't help but think about Pat White, who Rodriguez coached at West Virginia. Can you imagine what Rodriguez could do with the L.S.U. offense?

I can't help but get over how much he flopped when the pressure was on at Michigan. It's easy to win at Arizona when nobody expects anything out of your team. LSU is a different story

I would be okay with him if Les went to Michigan.
But Les is not going to Michigan.

Couldn't get Michigan to contend for shite.
We would have a great offense, and shite the bed on defense.

You do realize he was fired at Michigan don't you???. He's record was worst than hokes. But you want him because..........of his xbox offense?? And where has that got him?? That's right a low end pac 12 school. I see your point now I do.

Can we keep Chavis as DC?

He would be the #1 legit candidate that I think LSU could land.
I know Patterson, Jimbo. I think RR would come to LSU.

Do you think the LSU fan base would be okay with those big south LA lineman going to AU, UA, and TAMU, while RR goes with a smaller, faster lineman? Cause it will happen. I am not sure LSU people could take a major philosophy change.

Wow... I haven't thought of this... It's a great idea... I love Les. But I'm a little excited at this possibility if Rich can keep Chief around.

The SEC is won with defense unless you are Cam Newton. A defensive minded head coach or one with a proven defensive coordinator is what LSU needs - if anything unexpected happens with CLM.

This would piss me off so much, he's the guy we should have gone for instead of an unproven MWC coach who can't even win his conference.

No way in hell. man I hope not

I believe you're missing a coaching stop.
Hiring Rich Rodriguez is the equivalent of this scenario:
Little Larry turns 16 and is given a Ford Focus. He does really well driving that Ford Focus. So well in fact we decided to give him the keys to a Ferrari. He abruptly drives that Ferrari into a telephone pole. So you buy him another Ford Focus and he drives that for a while and does pretty well. Then you offer him the keys to a Ferrari again based on how he is driving that Ford Focus?

I believe the greatest fan discontent with Miles has to do with the fact that he appears to squander the loads of talent he recruits. There is no guarantee that RichRod would recruit to the same level.
Obviously, someone would have to replace Miles, but the assumption is false that the solution is as simple as plugging RichRod in with a new offense and that all other things would remain equal (talent, quality defense) as they were under Miles. That won't happen.

Rich Rod should have turned down Michigan. I am one that thinks Michigan is an exception on his resume. Michigan hired Rich to change their culture and half way through decided they didn't really want to change once they learned what it would take to change it. Rich is a good coach that would be successful at LSU. I'd take him.
The only part about Rich that gives me pause is how he handled some of the press coverage of UM during those years. He kinda came unglued at points that didn't reflect well on him. However, I also think the administration there was not supportive and some of that was coming through.

I do like Rich Rod, but if I had to choose, I want Les to stay at least the next 3 years.
