If Les left, that means no more Chavis too

I know there are some morons here who think Chavis isn't a good defensive coordinator. Well he isn't...he's a great one. People just assume, well miles is leaving so we just have to find someone with a good offense. Nope we have to replace Chavis with someone, odds are they wouldn't be nearly as good.
In case you didn't notice, our D is the reason we didn't lose 8 games this season.

Well yeah. I don't want Miles 3s to leave, but typically a new coach brings in all his new people.

Yea I would think Chavis, Cam, Frank Wilson and others would all leave if a new coach comes in.

Why do you automatically think a new guy wouldn't want to keep Chavis on staff. Did Les get rid of Tommy Moffit when Saban left? How bout Jimbo?

Most decent D coaches would look good with all the elite talent we have in this state. If we lose Chavis, he can be replaced without it being the end of the world.

Couldn't agree more with you!

I don't necessarily agree with that. Hopefully the heads at LSU are smart enough to figure out exactly what has helped us win over the past 5 years and other than last year it wasn't the offense. To me, especially because of the way Miles operates his offense, Chavis is more important to LSU than Miles not by a whole lot because of MIles recruiting efforts but a little.
If Miles were to leave, hopefully not, but I would hope LSU would back the truck up to keep Chavis and I would hope a coach coming in would do everything in his power to keep Chavis so much so that if he didn't want to do that we wouldn't hire him.

Ya'll need to chill and shite

Chavis would be hard/impossible to replace. Hopefully a new coach would have the sense to try to keep him and Frank.

That's not the issue, the issue is would Chief and others want to stay. I don't think they would. I've read many times where Chief and others have said they love the atmosphere Les has created at LSU for the coaching staff. Heck, Chief has had other offers but he stays because he likes Miles, as do the others.

Ed O and Rich Rod to run the team. CHAMPIONSHIP.

well a lot of that has to do with who LSU would hire to replace Les. I really doubt that if Les went to Michigan that they'd all follow him there.

I would tend to agree...assuming we make a high level hire...and not an up and comer type. You can't force that kind of coach to accept a coordinator that is not his own.

If Chavis wants to stay if Miles left he would be asked to stay.

Bingo! Coaches love coaching under Les. If Les leaves there is a good chance all his assistants leave too, including Frank.

These people that want Miles gone really have no clue as to what they are really wishing for. Sure Miles and his staff could do better but the chances of a new head coach coming in winning and maintaining success for years is not likely. An outsider ignorant to football would think the football team just finished 3-9 with next year looking even worse. The program is solid right now, some issues need to be worked out but LSU football is as strong as ever.

But, on the flip side of that coin, our O is why we lost 4.

Contracts are with the school not the coach. Before Florida canned Muschamp they cut deals with their two best recruiters so there would be no drop off for the 15 class.
No one in their right mind would can FW and if its an offensive head coach why couldn't he keep Chavis?

You think a new coach would get rid of chief and frank? No way

Yea because playing press man with elite corners is difficult. We get zero pass rush, and he started DJ Welter all of last year, and 2 games this year in which we lost almost as a direct result. He's a good coordinator, but he is by no means elite.
