A very satisfying win, and proof that the Saints are a gritty outdoors team now.

As always, take these stats with a grain of salt.
Please.

OFFENSE

-Another strong game by Strief...our most stalwart OL.
-The pass blocking overall was -0.5, or perfectly average. We all saw how Brees and the offense performed when he was protected yesterday.
-Speaking of Brees, with this week's passing score of +5.4, Drew now leads the league in terms of PFF's pure passing score. However, he's still second in overall scores because Rodgers runs with the ball better and more often.
-A look at Brees' "aimed" passes yesterday:

-Also, Brees still leads the league in deep passing accuracy. So can we stop shitting on him so much?
-I don't know why Evans and Grubbs alternate which one sucks every week. I blame Goodwin.
-Goodwin has GOT TO GO. He's terrible every week. He's rated 34th among 40 eligible centers. Lelito is 18th...and his score is actually in the positive (albeit barely).
-I'm excited about Toon. Can't say why.
-I don't understand Ingram's score. I'd expect it to be higher.
-Lorig in the positive is a pleasant chance of pace.
-The more we can get the ball to Stills, the better things will be. He does good things.
-Where is Morgan?

DEFENSE

-I think these ratings would be higher altogether if those last two drives by Pittsburgh hadn't happened.
-I really think this is Galette's strongest year yet. He's an excellent pass rusher.
-Jordan is still having trouble living up to previous years' performance.
-We are so desperate for an athletic LB. I like Lofton, but he's not enough in the middle.
-Another rough day for White.
-Vaccaro needs to get his head on straight, but I think he's coming around.
-Lewis' score is hurt by penalties.
-We really need Jenkins to be that disruptor in the middle. Still, it's good to see him stopping the run so well.
-Bad tackling is still popping up far too often.
-PRob has strung together some impressive games.
-Walker should play more.
-I'm still not sure about Hicks. I get the impression that Hicks performs better on the outside, but he's not gonna unseat Galette or Jordan.

I think he's having to worry about doing other people's jobs which has him second and third guessing.

It blows my mind that Payton keeps trotting Goodwin out week after week. I just don't understand.

Every week

We have a ton of talented DL. Wish we could share some of that with the LBs

I still don't think Toon is ever gonna be a thing, but that was a manly run after the catch to get his first TD yesterday so... hats off to the young man. I sincerely hope he's turning some kind of corner.

I have to think linebacker is our greatest need on defense.

Just a void of talent and speed.

I look forward to looking at these. You haven't been posting them lately it seems.

Goodwin is the weakest link on the o line without a doubt. Lelito sure as hell couldn't do any worse and I think he would actually do quite a bit better.

I don't get Ingram's score AT ALL.

We need serious help at ILB. Keep Lofton. Cut Hawthorne. Draft or sign a FA coverage LB. They were picking on Hawthorne/Lofton in coverage all game.

I really really wish Byrd wasn't injured. I think he'd be balling out right now and I think KV would be playing a lot better also.

So this puts an intriguing question. PFF is not the end all, but we saw it in the past few years with DLP.

Are the centers that bad or are the guards making the center look sloppy? Or a combination of both?

If combination, who's more to blame? This question is gonna be answered by who gets cut and who leaves and stays imo.

Now the athletic LB, sign me up as one of the few that wanted Mosley badly. Everyone saw that Hawthorne was not a solution, but damnit so close yet so far

Can you post those deep ball stats, please?
