instead of trying to speculate who is staying and who is going, i think it would be a better use of the rant's time to try and send out some positive vibes and and let the draft eligible underclassmen know that we really want them to stay!

reasons for all of you to stay:

1) this team is loaded with talent and with even slightly improved QB play will be a national contender.

2) it seems that every 4 years LSU puts out a national title caliber team and next year we will be 4 years removed from 2011! come be part of something special!!!!

Individual reasons:

Kwon Alexander: you have a chance to be the leader of one of the nastiest defenses in the country.

Danielle Hunter: you will have a chance to show the NFL the Elite pass rusher that we tiger fans know you can be. also note the nasty defense that the tigers will have next year.

Vadal Alexander and Jerald Hawkins: look at what a senior year has done for La'el. you to can improve your draft stock and help pave the way to the 2015 national Title!

Travin Dural: the QB play can go nowhere but up at this point and you will be able to show the world that you are a complete receiver, not just a deep threat.

Feel free to add more reasons they should stay to my list! and feel free to add any players that i have overlooked!

Lets get these tigers to wear purple and gold for one more year!

I completely agree.

LSU is a very special place - you will only be here for a few short years, so enjoy it when you can.

We have a great chance to be very good next year.

Leave a legacy, having more veteran guys show leadership to the young ones (like L.C.).

Forever LSU

Here's where you lost me.

I don't have a lot of faith that Jennings will improve much or that Miles will give Harris a legitimate chance at unseating him.

well my thinking is this: next year if we get kwon and/or danielle back then i believe we will have a 2011 type defense and if we could go 13-0 with Lee and JJ in 2011 than we would only need our QB to play marginally better than this year to have the same results.

Yeah, our defense will be nasty next year if we get enough guys to come back. Hopefully Harris will shine or Jennings will significantly improve next year, but we can potentially win a lot of games relying on our defense.

I'm with you 100% until here....if Travin even gets a sniff that he will be drafted he should go. To try and convince this kid that our QB situation will get better because it can't get any worse is an insult to his intelligence. He needs to move on so that he can get more frequent and multitudes better opportunities.

I hope you are asked to sit in the meetings with those players because with them we can win both an SEC and National Championship. Without them the chances we win any championship becomes a lot more difficult.

I will add this also, I don't want to lose even one of those possibilities of early departures. Senior leadership is one of the keys to winning a championship. Your leadership is what will help lift LSU to an SEC & national championship next year. I am sure you came to LSU to play for both SEC and National Championships along with making it to the NFL. Well the NFL will be there for you next year when you graduate and you will most likely be in a better position to get drafted even higher than you would this year which means your percentages of making it in the NFL go up even higher.

But if you leave you will not have had a chance to attain one of the goals you came to LSU for and that is playing for SEC and Nat Championships if you stay with the team we will have next year you will attain those goals!!!!

Kwon is a very fast and talented LB, but isn't he a little small for the NFL at this point? (Isn't he only around 220 or so?) Wouldn't he benefit by staying another year and adding about 15 to his frame?

It all comes down to each players financial situation. If you have to leave to help your family go. I would love for all of them to stay but the entire purpose of school is to find good employment. Go get paid but if you're going to be a 3rd rounder stay and improve your value

These kids are making personal life decisions. Them leaving doesnt mean they hate LSU. Most of them have kids to feed.

incredibly naïve post. Makes me wonder how old the OP is.

It's all about money for these guys, and I don't blame them one bit. If they can increase their draft stock by coming back to LSU to play another year, maybe they'll stay. If not, they'll go. It's really very simple, and it's just reality.

Totally agree, and I don't begrudge anyone for leaving early. I know I would in their shoes. I selfishly want them to stay a little longer, though.

Of course they are and I don't think you will find one true LSU fan that doesn't wish them the best.

I don't think any LSU fan thinks anything different.

Obviously that is a big factor in their decision and should be weighed into their decision. But there are many other factors that should weigh into the decision that will make their family better off if they stay and draft higher the next year. The NFL is there for them the next year and chances are they will improve their NFL draft stock if they stay therefore giving them even a better chance of making an NFL roster and staying in the NFL. The stats don't lie only people do.

That is ok, with your post I wonder about the intelligence of you!!!

Yes it is about plying the trade that they came to LSU for which is to play in the NFL.

That being said I am pretty sure that these guys also came to play at LSU for SEC and National Championships. The NFL will be there for them next year, but they have a real, real chance of playing for both the SEC and National Championship next year if they return. And that is something you can brag about for the rest of your life.
