What would you trade for Amari Cooper aka rookie of the year 2015

I have a feeling I am going to be the black sheep this off-season. I, unlike everyone else it seems, think he'll be a bust in the NFL.

Cardarralle would be awesome as a kick returner. We need someone besides fricken Cadet. But I'm not sure I would be willing to give a 3rd for him. I think we really need help in this draft to become a better team next season, especially on the interior oline and secondary.

This all boils down to what you think of Patterson. It's clear in this thread that some would view a trade of a 3rd round pick as "buying low" while others think he's worth less than your run of the mill 3rd round pick.

Personally, assuming he has 3 years remaining on his deal, I think it's a no-brainer to make this deal.

Or that others think our receiving corps isn't a position in need of immediate help.

FWIW, if Saints made the deal, we would get him for two years (2015 and 2016).

Not anyone on here said he was bad.

WR is a Position of Strength for us...while we could use an upgrade it is not a need compared to

CB, C, LB, OG, DT

a 3rd Round investment can land you an immediate starter at several of these need positions.

You would be paying your 4th WR or 5th WR...1st Rounder money.

By the time he developed(If) he developed into a no.1...he would be hitting the FA market anyway...

This is another issue. Patterson isn't a #1 WR right now. He has all the physical skills to be, but he needs work. If we're getting a stud WR that is going to come in and be a #1 out the gate, sure. But this is a guy that needs to be coached up and clearly has something going on with him if he's getting passed by guys like Wright and Johnson in Minnesota.

We would be buying a project WR with a 3rd round pick that we would have for 2 years.

ETA: And to reiterate what you said, I don't think anyone denies that he is a weapon. But there are positions that need attention more than the receiving corps.

Lets not forget, its Norv Turner up there.

It isn't like he's completely inept at developing receivers
