Texas - it's probably A&M's to turn down but how do you turn a Texas matchup down and you know ESPN wants it
There will be no Texas/A&M match up in the Texas Bowl no matter now much ESPN wants it. If the Cotton Bowl couldn't make it happen 2 years ago, it ain't gonna happen in the Texas Bowl. There is still too much bad blood between the schools.
I am hoping that LSU has been touting our large alumni base in Houston as a reason for the Texas Bowl folks to choose us over the Aggies. LSU fans will stay in Houston hotels; the Aggies will just drive in for the game. If Joe Alleva gives a crap about selling tickets, then he's praying that the SEC sends us to Houston. Otherwise, LSU will have to eat the cost of a ton of unsold bowl tickets for the 3rd year in a row.

I don't believe this is going to happen. We opened the season in Reliant Stadium. I don't think they'll send us back there for a bowl.

Tennessee will probably join them, UK is possible, I guess everybody but Vandy and maybe one other probably UK from the east that is 13, 12, or 11 bowl eligible teams best I can tell.

Objection, relevance.
Seriously, this matters not. It's all about money and ratings. Wouldn't be much different than playing in Jerry's World for back to back games in 2010-2011.

SEC will have 12 bowl eligible teams when UT beats Vandy. (Kentucky could make it 13, but they won't beat Louisville).
3 to CFP and major bowls (*possibly only 2)
1 to Citrus
6 to Pool of 6 (Liberty, Texas, Gator, outback, Belk, Music City)
2 to Birmingham/Independence
*if only 2 sec teams make the major bowls, then 1 SEC team will go to a random (totally unpredictable) bowl with no ties to SEC

Anyone have a good outlook with what needs to happen for each scenario?
Anyone taking that much time to analyze which mediocre bowl LSU can get in different scenarios has serious problems

50/50 chance of us being at the corner of greenwood rd and hearne ave.

We should just pull a La Tech and hold out for a prestigious bowl. It basically works every single time
Posted on 11/25/14 at 8:59 pm to nicholastiger
So LSU wouldn't play in the same bowl two years in a row? Why is this ? I would think they would want a New Years bowl.
Posted on 11/25/14 at 9:03 pm to TulaneUVA
How about NONE??? The team is an embarrassment and will likely lose to aTm and the bowl.

To that Stadium off of I-20 on the corner of Jewella and Greenwood Rd.

LSU Bowl Options
Best to worst
1. AutoZone Liberty Bowl
2. Duck Commander Independence Bowl
3. AdvoCare V100 Texas Bowl
4. Birmingham Bowl
5. TaxSlayer-Gator Bowl
Those are LSU's only options for Bowling this year.
I feel the closer to Home , the bigger the Crowd. No one is traveling very far. A Horrid economy with just as bad of an LSU offense = No ticket sales.
++ Don't be surprise if the SEC slaps LSU & their fans in the face with a trip to the Birmingham Bowl....... It's like alabama beat you, and your going to support their economy.
Sincerely Love the SEC!!
P.S. -- and another SEC team goes to Shreveport ...

Has the gator bowl really sunk that low? Used to be a pretty good bowl game

The SEC will select which SEC schools play in the Outback, Music City, Gator, Liberty, Texas and Belk bowls, not the bowl games themselves.
"This bowl process gives us the best opportunity to address several issues that impact SEC fans, including the creation of intriguing matchups, the accommodation of travel for fans, reduced ticket obligations for our schools and a variety of assignments to help prevent repetitive postseason destinations," said Slive.
LINK - Be careful in the link, some of the sponsors have changed since the announcement.

The bowl that sunshine pumpers will laud as "the best non-playoff bowl". Then hinge some future event based on the outcome.
Are you always such a miserable person? No one will say that.

Meanwhile, I will not give two shits about it. I honestly don't care if we lose games or go to shitty bowls.
Cool story bro. Why even post in the thread about the bowl game if you don't give two shits about it? Looks like you give at least 1 shite

The worse thing is not seeing our team get better and improve or adapt or utilize the talent.
This team has certainly improved this season. This still has nothing to do with this thread.

Then afterwards I'm told by sunshiners that it's really football glory that I'm seeing.
I haven't seen 1 person say that our offense is playing great football. You love creating arguments for other people though.
Seriously, you need to get on some anti-depressants and get a grip

Taxslayer bowl, liberty bowl or the belk bowl is the best bowl projection for LSU at this time. Hopefully they finish the season strong by beating Texas A&M and positing themselves for a good mid tier bowl game against a quality opponent.

Don't care where we go but would like to play a Big ten team and not an ACC or a nobody.
