I don't want to believe its true but the idea that this many women are conspiring to bring the man down - sobfar after the fact when its too late to sue - is more absurd than the idea that he did it.
Yes, it seems absurd. Then again, in the late 80s, two TWELVE YEAR OLDS conspired to accuse a bus driver in Tampa, Fl of rape because he separated them for misbehaving on the bus. When one of them was about 22, she came forward to admit the scam. Dude's life was ruined.
If you'd told me then that two twelve year old girls would do such a thing, I'd have laughed at you.
Weird shite happens. Like I said, I don't necessarily think this is made up. I just can't figure out how the frick the story remained squashed when all it took was some comedian to make it go viral.

kinda sad you'd equate consensual sex with drugging a woman and have your way. I guess Cosby had the same attitude.
Bill Clinton was accused of rape by numerous women, just as Bill Cosby has been. You just choose to ignore it. Which is pretty sad on your part.

Maybe this has been answered but I haven't read it.
Why didn't any of these women go to the cops? Rape is a crime.

Many of them came out years ago. Some of them settled and some of them were summarily ignored by a media eager to cover it up.
Actually Tamara Green went on The "Today Show" with Matt Lauer around 2005 with these allegations . But they didn't really make news beyond that day which makes the theory that now all of a sudden Black Activists & the MSM are involved in some conspiracy to take down Cosby foolish.
If anything most Black Activists would never publicly attack another Black man (outside an active Politician/Public Servant) & will remain silent publicly or simply give Cosby the benefit of the doubt.
Lena Dunham who is considered a 'Liberal' however is viciously attacked for speaking openly about her sexual curiosity as a child/minor over decades ago. There are dozens of pages of vitriol against the far lesser known Dunham just here in these forums & a certain segment of the Political spectrum made it a bigger issue than it truly was.
But Cosby who is an entertainment giant(unlike Dunham) gets accused of drugging & raping 20 women & those same people are silent or the few responding defending him.
Goes to my point about the desperation on the right to have a prominent person of color espousing their stereotypical opinions.

Maybe we can resolve the Bill Clinton rapes and the Cosby rapes all at the same time.

And I could just as easily make a point about the left eating one of their own when that person fails to toe the mark.
See how that works?

But damn. This is an odd case. In today's day, "spiking" a story aint what it used to be. Spiking a story these days is darned near impossible with the proliferation of networks and the web.
Sure, spiking it if only one source has it is probably doable. But, that hasn't been the situation here.
I admit it. Is suspect the dude is guilty of at least some of this. But, I'm just slow enough on my roll to wonder why the frick some comedian going viral is all it took to make it go huge.
ANY website seeking hits could've done this. Why didn't it happen before?
I agree that it's odd. But take a look at this:
LINK
It's a mea culpa by a prominent black author who has been very critical of Cosby's "pull up your pants schtick". He wrote a critical piece of Cosby back in 2008 and admits in this article that he made a huge mistake not also exploring the rape charges which he found to be disturbing and credible. Very interesting viewpoint.

I just found this from the Daily Mail in the UK. It doesn't sound like rape at all.
it's prostitution
This may explain why the girls didn't call the police and file rape charges.

FWIW, in Florida a night or two ago at a Cosby show, he received a standing ovation before and after his performance.

Per CNN.
Seriously!
Not one single criminal charge?
Yet Cosby is presumed guilty.
I mean, he may be guilty, but where is the presumption of innocence?

Please. This has been around for years. And he settled with some of them...doesn't seem the behavior of the innocent.

quote:Well. Just to pay Devils Advocate here, innocent people are motivated to settle all the time. If one believes the nastiness of a trial will do harm to one's marketability and settling reduces that, then settling can make sense. Especially if, even if innocent, some unpleasant personal laundry might come out.

He may be guilty but, this stuff does happen

Just out of curiosity, was this your take on Michael Jackson as well?

Now then, consider response to Bill Clinton over the same exact issue.
