That is absolutely not the norm

Dr. Richard Carter in BR did mine about 15 years ago. BCBS for me, too. Only had to pay $25 co-pay. Local anesthesia, done in office, iced for 24 hrs. and was good to go. Only pain was the little prick from the anesthesia shot.

People I've talked to never mentioned titanium balls and random winces of pain

Go see Dr. Dick Chopp in Austin

Yeah, everyone I know had it cauterized. I just googled "titanium clips vasectomy" and (1) it is apparently pretty common and (2) the second link mentions the clips working their way out. I need to go throw up now.

3 kids here, need a vasectomy.
I was surprised to learn that it takes a few months to actually work, and that you are supposed to go back and get checked to see if you are truly sterile.

I had to purchase a kit, around $60 I believe, so I got to test at home. Perfect excuse for a bj twice in a 6 month span.

What you'll hear will vary between 30 days and 3 months. My surgeon told me to bring a sample in after 6 weeks, then again at 8.
What I've seen consistently though is that it takes 20-25 ejaculations to clear out any remaining swimmers.

6 here and my insurance doesn't cover.. I'm gonna call and threaten them with more kids if they don't offer..

My out of pocket cost was $60 total with the insurance covering the rest. I have not had any issues and it is great. I am married and have three kids. The procedure for me was A LOT less invasive than it would have been for my wife. I recommend it to anybody. No different feeling at all. Plus, creampie city.

$ 1,200 you want the guy that does a 100 a week to do yours, practice makes PERFECT. Don't use a regular dr. that does one a month.......Rest for 2 days after and I mean stay laying down with ice on the jewels and you will avoid the swollen balls and discomfort down the road. If you let the boys recover correctly there are no lasting side effects and recovery is quick.

Dr. Vick at BR Urology did mine about 4 years ago. For all the horror stories I've heard, it wasn't bad at all. Sat in a chair all weekend watching football and drinking beer. Didn't run for 10 days, but was as good as new after that.

I get random ball pain once a month or so, but not that bad.
Ten years after, had random ball pain and pissed blood. But, it went away.

I get a slight pain in my sack about every so often. NBD, it goes away real quickly. I also have titanium clips. The cut a section out of mine, cauterized them and clipped both ends..... if I make a baby it was meant to be.

True story: Friend of mine went back for his sample to be tested. Nurse gives him the cup and a bag. He goes into the restroom pulls one off into the cup and gives it to the nurse. Nurse looks in the bag and says "no sweetie, we need a urine sample"
