quote:I cook them on grill between 500 and 600°F. They cook quickly. 2-4 minutes a side, I'd guess. When the edges brown to the desired color, I take them off. I don't use a digital thermometer so I can't give you a temperature.
How long do you cook them or to what temp?

Reminds me of yakitori.
Which makes me wonder: does anyone use a yakitori grill? Can you even get binchotan charcoal in the US?

Amazon is your friend. Haven't ordered any yet, but they have it.
This site has all your Japanese cooking needs.

now this is something great for gameday. What do they cost per pound? roughly how many to a pound?

I'd also like to know.

That was about a pound pictured. I don't know, maybe 40 hearts or so.
I can generally find them for $3.99/lb. But I've never seen them at a regular grocery store. Chicken is expensive where I currently live. This is literally the cheapest cut of chicken I can find, when it's available at the farmer's market or gourmet grocery store.
I find it very easy to grill. However, if you do not get a crispy outside char, some may be turned off by the "rubbery" texture.

Wow. Look for a Piggly Wiggly or other similar type store. Here in N Ms they're generally $0.69 per lb

Bumping another one for information.
Where's the best place in the BR area to get a bunch of chicken hearts?

Payless on 42 in Prairieville regularly has them.
Not sure on cost.

Just fried some chicken hearts in butter with some chopped garlic, salt, and pepper. Delicious.
Found this thread by looking for a different way to cook the remaining hearts I purchased.
