Best post of the season

Who the hell else do we have on scholarship behind Jennings? 3 scholarship QBs departed during the Spring. Kragthorpe and the other clipboard holder were not viable options.
You don't have to declare a redshirt year before the season. If what some say about Harris' work ethic, not ready, etc., is true, then he had no business starting at Auburn. If Jennings got hurt, then you could have played Harris.
And that doesn't explain not getting him in the Ark game when the game was lost.

The mismanagement of the QB position should be questioned more.
I agree on that.

Miles said that Jennings is less of a risk to turn the ball over

Another retarded comment. Do you watch the games at all?
Teams flood the box against us. Blaming the line is done by people who don't understand football. You're looking for any reason to defend Miles with no objectivity whatsoever.

JFF, Jameis, and McCarron didn't get ANY snaps the year prior. 2 of these guys won the Heisman their first year starting, and the other won multiple national championships. If the guy can play, he can play. He doesn't need 5-10 plays a game to be better prepared for the next season
Neither one of those guys were true freshman when they got real playing time and all of them had personnel on staff that was able to develop them to a certain extent. Everybody can see that Harris has the talent, throw him in there and let him learn the game. He's not going to learn how to progress through his reads without game action. I feel like we wasted an entire season by not giving Harris a chance to develop and be ready to roll next season.

Wanting Harris to get in a game that the coach said he would do is not a negatiger u dimwit.

Ok I can respect your opinion, and frustration on this.
But getting him experience on what? Sacks? Picks? If you're starting him when the OL is weak, that's what you get. And it just got weaker.
My point is that if there is any doubt in his readiness, NOW (especially) is NOT the right time.
Getting him "reps" without giving thought to the above points is shallow and equally negligent IMO
Predicted response to this: but AJ gets sacked and picked too! It's just not fair!!!

Hopefully while they are still waiting on Harris to be prepared, they are looking at the top juco qbs who are already prepared.

wow, so you shouldnt get him experience because it's going to be tough?
is this serious?

He needs reps. His OL will be young next year. He needs the experience.

It's hard to be ready when you don't ever get a chance to play.
Circular argument
you can'y be ready to play until you r get ready by playing.
You can be ready to play by learning the offense, learning the reads, learning the adjustment, and showing it in practice.
It not like he doesn't run plays in practice.

quote:JFF and Jameis were RS freshmen who didn't take any snaps the year before but played well enough to win awards, and Jameis won a title. LSU didn't have the luxury of RS'n Harris, but saying if he doesn't play, he'll suffer is ridiculous. Players get better in practice, not games.

So, you're telling me that Harris can't do what Jennings is doing? Handing the ball off 50 times, reading one or two routes, looking at the sideline for the reads and checks? I find it hard to believe that Harris can't do the same things Jennings is being asked to do. shite we don't run that many different offensive sets and majority of the plays are damn near the same.
Bottom line is that this season is a wash so you might as well let Harris get some playing time. Jennings isn't going to get that much better than he is right now. Give Harris the ball and allow him to take his lumps.

You can't duplicate live game action in practice. It's not the same. Miles put Harris in with 4 minutes left against MSU in mop up duty. A miracle damn near happened.
Now, I'm not suggesting the same would have occurred against Ark. But like the MSU game, the experience is invaluable. Once Ark put the game out of reach in the 4th qtr, Harris should have played. To argue against this makes no sense to me.

Like I said, he'll get n when he's ready and we can ensure his success. It will probably be 2015. He may get a few snaps this weekend but it won't be because of the dorm room temper tantrums. It will be because of a deliberate decision based on readiness.
He wIll not transfer. And he will have an awesome next game.
And I can hear the kids now....we'd be undefeated if we had started him from the beginning.

Cam to Les: Yeah, you're right coach, I don't know shite.
Les to Cam: Now, get out of my office.
Les silently: Where's Jennings?

quote:Jameis and JFF says experience my arse. Being a RS Freshman as those 2 were, is like being a SO. However, Jameis and JFF didn't get any snaps the year prior to them starting. I think both of those players earned a nice trophy at the end of that RS season.

Agreed...and half the posters here act like they are at those practices. No way those coaches might be seeing something and basing their decision on facts and observation.
Nope. It's gotta be cam saying he's ready and les saying no cam, Ill do it my way. I want failure, can't you see it cam!?

personally, i think that is why he isn't playing. Jarrett Lee took a lot of lump, and it ruined him.
People are saying we are ruining Jennings leaving him in, but Jennings has a much lower ceiling, so if you have to pick.

The gameplan with Harris will not be the same gameplan. -mett 2013 -Putting Harris in to hand off the ball 50times won't prepare him for what we will run with him when he and the team are ready

I think the real fear is that Jennings will keep the job next year as well, even though he shows no progress this year.
