The heart this team showed tonight is promising

They fought back and made big plays when they needed it. I just wish they would stop jacking up 3s when they do not have it. I do not think it is coincidence that in JJs two years we have set records for 3s shot. This team has talent, but needs time to gel.

The fact that we needed to show heart to beat TTU in OT (at home for that matter) is disconcerting.
We are still a good team, though. We should be successful in conference play.

The BBall IQ they showed isnt. Extremely frustrating shot selection and looked poorly coached.
Lets hope they can play smarter in the future

the basketball IQ of this team is spotty to say the least. they take way to many forced shots, especially early in shot clocks. i dont mind pushing the ball down court quickly but if nothing is there, pull out and run some offense dont settle for a crappy jump shot or heavily contested layup.
another situation in which they showed very little basketball smarts was the middle portion of the second half. they came out attacking the basket early on and got to the bonus in like two minutes. then tech switches to a zone and we stopped attacking and started taking stupid jumpers again. how do you not continue to attack knowing the free throws are guaranteed?
we got lucky in this one and need to improve drastically before we get to conference play. but in the end we got the W and showed that when we put it together we are a dangerous team. just need to figure out how to put it together for the whole game.

Umm, you do realize that Tubby Smith is their coach? He could take a high level high school team and be competitive against a lot of teams on this planet.....
Just sayin......

Josh Gray driving into double coverage to the basket with < 35 seconds left in OT on two different possession. Dribble the ball out and milk the clock man...

yea, i was surprised by him and both positively and negatively. i thought he'd be a much smarter player having been around the block and all but he made some poor decisions tonight. the kid sure can pass in transition though.

it showed. we were drastically out coached tonight. no way that team should have even been in this one. hopefully coach Jones took some notes.

If we had Tubby coaching our team tonight we win by 15+! You saw the difference in a well coached team and a poorly coached team tonight. Only reason we won was because of our superior talent.

speaking of superior talent, holy shite Kentucky looked incredible.

The players, Mickey and Martin especially, were so into it with the crowd, begging for more. I know it was a late start and nonconference play, but this team deserves a big crowd.

Martin is a special player, he is what we thought he was.
