Really thinking about switching to Sprint

Their offer is tempting:
$300 x 2 trade in for my old phone
$350 x 2 for switching to Sprint
-----------
$1300
Plus bill would give me more data and cost me $50/month less than what I am paying. What am I missing?

You'll be missing tolerable internet speed.

Have had them for 3 years. Zero complaints unlimited data. I would recommend it.

Which isn't that important to me. I don't use the internet on my phone that much outside of Wifi.

I hear people bitch about Sprint all the time and never understand it. It could be because I live in Houston so I pretty much always have LTE coverage.

most likely thats the case
i spend a fair amount of time in rural areas, but I like to stay connected
verizon has been very good for me

No complaints here after 2 years

I had Verizon before but my job had a really good discount with Sprint so I made the switch after the Verizon contract was up. If Sprint ever gets rid of unlimited data I will be going back to Verizon.

My brother had Sprint and lived in Houston and could not get service in my parents house. He moved to Covington and would get maybe 3g with 1 bar in his apartment. His calls would always cut out and drop. Needless to say he switched. I've heard nothing but bad things about Sprint

It wasn't really about the internet speeds for me, it was the stupid dropped calls in my house. If you walked from the bedroom to the kitchen, it would drop in the hallway. Almost every single time. It got to the point that my wife would run through there really fast. She was home on maternity leave last year and got fed up with it dropping so much. At both our jobs it was fine, but we've switched to Verizon and have been very pleased. Even with these great deals I'm staying with Verizon.

Probably should have read your post before my first post. Exactly why we dropped them. I don't know what happened because it used to be great. I travelled a good bit with work and out in the boonies my coworkers on Cingular/AT&T would have to borrow my phone all the time because they had no signal. Even a few on Verizon had to. But it seems with the smartphones the actual cell service is crap. Data was always fine with my iphone 4S. No idea how their LTE speeds are though.

I've had Sprint in NO for 12 years... I've had, no exaggeration, less than 5 dropped calls.
And, unlike Verizon and ATT, Sprint doesn't track your mobile web surfing with these pernicious "perma-cookies" that you can't block or delete:

At least not yet...

Internet speed and coverage all sucked when I had Sprint. If you're into the obnoxious push-to-talk deals, they might be okay. Dropped calls like Yeldon drops footballs, too.

I just switched from AT&T like two weeks ago and went with the $100/20gb family plan. I pay $25 for 128gb iPhone 6, my mom, brother, and sister pay $20 for 16gb iPhone 6.
That said, I'm happy with the phone... but I've seen a deterioration of signal coverage.
As in, it drops in and out between here and BR and I had "No Service" in the Superdome yesterday...

If you're in BR, it's not too bad. A few dropped calls here and there in low reception areas, but tend to have reliable internet

I live in NOLA and have used Sprint there since 2009. Pretty much all of the places I frequent I have shitty coverage. My LTE speeds are laughable. Only place I've seen fast LTE speeds is near the intersection of Jefferson Highway and Causeway.
